Metallica to Release Their First Five Albums on Colored Vinyl for International Fans


Metallica has announced plans to reissue its first five albums internationally. Colored vinyl editions of 1983’s “Kill ‘Em All”, 1984’s “Ride The Lightning”, 1986’s “Master Of Puppets”, 1988’s “…And Justice For All” and 1991’s “Metallica” will begin to hit shelves in November 2023, but check stores in your region for available pre-orders.

And so the Metallica riff machine rolls on! forty years after their debut album Kill Em All (1983) laid the blueprint for the Thrash Metal genre, they return with record number … well that’s kind of up for debate depending on how you view their discography, and whether you count live albums, covers album and erm collaborations. ALBUM REVIEW: Machine Head – ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN


 

I remember one-time reading Revolver magazine’s review for Through the Ashes of Empires and while it was a very positive piece the writer felt that despite being a great step forward it may have been too little, too late for Machine Head. Hard to believe now, but in those days some perceived Machine Head as being dead in the water following the more mainstream stylings of The Burning Red and the ill-timed Supercharger.

Metallica Releases a New Animated Video for “Master of Puppets”


Metallica has shared a new video for their classic song “Master of Puppets” from the album of the same name. The track and album have risen up the global streaming and sales chats on the power of appearing in the Stranger Things Season 4 finale. The animated clip was made by U.K. design agency ILOVEDUST, which previously worked with Ozzy Osbourne on the artwork for his upcoming studio album “Patient Number 9”, and with Foo Fighters on promotional activity for their “Studio 666” movie.

Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” Enters The Billboard Charts After Being Featured in “Stranger Things”


Metallica’s Master Of Puppets album and its title track has entered the Billboard charts as well as Spotify and Apple Music top rankings, 36 years after its release. This is in just one week following its appearance in the season four finale of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things”. The popularity of the 1986 song, used in the series, brought it to the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time ever in the band’s lengthy career. Metallica has teamed up again with Wal-Mart to release a new series of EXCLUSIVE colored vinyl series for the albums Load (1996), Reload (1997), Garage Inc. (1998), St. Anger (2003) and Death Magnetic (2008). This follows the 2021 release of the “original five” Metallica albums and Hardwired… To Self-Destruct (2016).
