Maryland Deathfest organizers postponed this year’s festival. They have just announced new dates for 2021 (May 27-30, 2021) and revealed that almost the full 2020 lineup will play. Maryland Deathfest 2020 Announces Running Order

Maryland Deathfest has announced its 2020 running order! Already featuring Dismember, Bloodbath, Exhorder, Monstrosity, Onslaught, Cadaver, Cancer, Graveyard, Vio-lence, Necrophobic, Demilich, Acid Witch, Fabio Frizi and many more, the eighteenth edition of MDF, taking place at Rams’ Head Live and Baltimore Soundstage. Dropdead Releases Benefit Album of Unreleased Demos

Maryland Deathfest XVII, May 24, 2019

Legendary Rhode Island hardcore punk band and activists Dropdead have released a ten-song, digital compilation of unreleased demos via the Armageddon Label, and offshoot of the Armageddon Records shops in New England. The sales from the release will go to fund a new van after theirs was stolen in Montreal June first. The band continues to work on new music for release at a future date, as frontman Bob Otis recovers slowly from his 2017 motorcycle accident. The band recently got off tour (when their van was stolen), performed at Maryland Deathfest this year and has booked other shows this year, such as the legendary Obscene Extreme Festival next month.  Please support this band any way you can! Nordjevel – Necrogenesis

Black metal has really come around for me in the past few years where I was essentially just bored of the genre. While many black metal bands are putting out some solid releases, Nordjevel have really hit the nail on the head with their latest, Necrogenesis (Osmose). This release is more than just thirty minutes of blast beats and some abrasive anti-Christian lyrics. This Norwegian outfit is all about progressing forward while holding onto their roots as well in a well-done harmony. Even the length of forty-seven minutes seems like a little much for a black metal record of the current era, but the welcome is certainly not overstayed. Continue reading
