ALBUM REVIEW: Ministry – HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES

Ministry’s long career began back in 1981 and has seen many different incarnations over the proceeding 43 years with the one constant of producer/singer/multi-instrumentalist Al Jourgensen steering the ship throughout. It’s fair to say the band have had to navigate some severely choppy waters over the decades, with a revolving door style policy of other personnel joining the larger-than-life frontman in his lifelong musical pursuit, and with various controversies never too far away.Continue reading

Wood’s legal fees mounted during Manson’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against her. Marilyn Manson – real name Brian Warner – who counter-sued Wood, has been ordered by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to pay $326,956 of Evan Rachel Wood’s legal fees. According to a report by Rolling Stone, Wood’s legal fees were racked up during Manson’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against her. The financial damage could’ve been worse to Manson, but Judge Teresa A. Beaudet ordered nearly $60,000 of Wood’s full claim not to be paid, saying that some of the lawyers’ billed hours were “vague.” Manson has been battling legal issues for years and is still under investigation by the LA County’s Sheriff’s office. ALBUM REVIEW: South of Salem – Death of the Party

With a distinctly American sound and name, you might believe South of Salem hail from sunnier US climes rather than from right here in the good old UK. Only really notable for its beaches and a football team of intermittent quality, Bournemouth might not be a seething hive of metal activity but it is home to one of the best up and coming bands of the last few years. According to a published report from Consequence of Sound the second lawsuit out of a dozen-plus cases of Sexual Assault, harassment, abuse, human trafficking, threatening witnesses, and other allegations against embattled musician and actor Marliyn Manson has been dismissed. Model Ashley Morgan Smithline had accused Manson, a.k.a. Brian Warner of sexual assault, human trafficking, and unlawful imprisonment. According to CBS News, that case was dismissed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Stern on the grounds of Walters waiting too long to file the lawsuit and failing to prove why the statute of limitations should be overlooked. This developemnt is the latest in the saga that has carried on multiple years, with many facets of investigations by the LA County Sherrifs office, allegations by over a dozen accuseers, lawsuits, counter-suits by Manson, and Manson’s former parter Evan Rachel Wood’s bombshell documentary with allegations of rape, sexual abuse, torture in her documetary – Phoenix Rising which debuted on HBO on March 15th, 2022. Evan Rachel Wood’s Documentary “Phoenix Rising” About Being Abused by Marilyn Manson Debuts on HBO

TW for rape, sexual abuse, DV, drugs, grooming, self-harm:

After premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, Evan Rachel Wood’s documentary Phoenix Rising about enduring and ultimately surviving abuse from her former partner Marilyn Manson has made its debut on HBO. You can watch it on HBO and HBO Max. The film is an unflinching autobiographical look at Wood’s life, abuse she suffered at the hands of Marilyn Manson (Brian Warner), which included grooming her as a teenage, rape, sexual abuse and torture, domestic violence, maniupulation, drug abuse, and self-ham (Manson). The film also follows Wood’s personal journey of recovery, uniting other survivors of his abuse, and getting The Phoenix Law passed to protect victims. Wood is also seeking YouTube to remiove the “Heart Shaped Glasses” video fron the social video network as she claims to have been drugged and raped during the filming. Manson is suing Wood and Illma Gore (both the filmmakers and current partners) for defamation, and has called the allegations against him “horrible distortions of reality.” Within hours after Wood announcing her allegations against him back on February 1st, 2020, Manson’s record label, Loma Vista Recordings (home to Ghost and Korn) dropped him from the label and vowed to stop promoting his current release. All of Manson’s music and merch was removed from the label website and webstore. He also lost his lucrative active gigs on TV and movies, and his agent of 25 years, Tony Ciulla, has dropped him.Continue reading
