According to a new post at Metal Sucks, actress Evan Rachel Wood (HBO’s Westworld) has formally accused her former partner, Marilyn Manson of years of horrific sexual abuse, via a new post to her Instagram, Wood shared in her post that Manson “started grooming me when I was a teenager” and “brainwashed and manipulated me into submission..” and she wants “to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he ruins any more lives.” In 2019, Wood appeared before the California Senate Public Safety committee on behalf of the Phoenix Act, which seeks to create exceptions to the statute of limitations for domestic violence crimes in the state of California. Although Wood testified and shared many stories as part of that testimony, she declined to name her abuser, saying that “They threatened to kill me or have me killed.” Manson has in the past had the support of former wife Dita Von Teese and ex-girlfriend Rose McGowan, two prominent leaders of the #metoo movement. Manson also fired Twiggy Ramierez from his band over similar claims. Others in the music journalism community sought to connect the dots to her former relationship with Manson, whom she didn’t name until today. So far, Manson has declined to comment. We’ll continue to monitor this story for updates.
