Heavy Metal legends Judas Priest, will finally celebrate their 50th anniversary this year with the launch of a North American tour this fall. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour will also feature Sabaton as openers and is being fueled by the highest-charting album of Priest’s career, ‘Firepower,’ which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, June 11 at 10 am local time at the link below. In a letter to recently sworn-in President Joseph Biden today AEG, Bandit Lites, Broadway League, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), Live Nation, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the National Independent Talent Organization (NITO), the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), Oak View Group (OVG), and We Make Events formally offered their venues, staff, and expertise to the COVID-19 vaccination effort. The live event industry is in a unique position to help – the pandemic has fully shuttered operations, leaving venues empty and the furloughed crowd-management oriented staff who operate them eager to help out and get back to work.

Dr. Anthony Fauci Predicts Concert Venues Will Reopen in Fall of 2021


According to a report via Blabbermouth.net, via The New York Times, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the worlds ‘leading expert on infectious disease has predicted that theaters and other live entertainment venues could reopen “sometime in the fall of 2021.” Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases gave an update on when he believes shows can return during a virtual conference held by the Association of Performing Arts Professionals.

Live Nation CEO Predicts a Return of Concerts and Festivals “At Scale” in 2021


Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino has been bullish on concerts and festivals returning in 2021 and now we have further evidence that he is convinced of this idea. According to a published report by Kerrang (via IQ Mag) Rapino spoke on an Investors call on November 5th in which he said expects concerts to return “at scale” next year, depending on the region.He further shared that the promoters were working on a “roadmap to get back to live safely”, with current “progress on testing technology treatments and vaccines” looking encouraging. Though Michael admitted the “exact timeline of this return will vary by region, and so we continue to focus on remaining flexible”, he added that Live Nation “expect shows at scale next summer”.

Korn and Faith No More Have Officially Canceled Their US Tour


Another great tour getting the kybosh from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is the highly anticipated tour by Korn and Faith No More. It is officially canceled and it will not be rescheduled. Refunds are available from Live Nation. The tour was to also feature Daron Malakian And Scars On Broadway, Helmet, Spotlights, and ’68. The coast-to-coast 26-city trek — with special guests on select dates — was scheduled to kick off August 7 in Denver, Colorado and make stops in Irvine, Phoenix, Dallas, Brooklyn, Toronto and more, before wrapping up with a performance at St. Louis’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre on September 17. Ticketmaster Changes Gears, Will Offer Refunds on 18,000 Postponed Events


In a shocking reversal of their much-maligned policy walk back, Ticketmaster has announced it will issue refunds for more than 18,000 events postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. According to Billboard, starting May 1, once postponed shows announce the rescheduled dates, fans will begin to receive e-mails from Ticketmaster to initiate a full refund. Fans will then have 30 days to request a refund; otherwise, their ticket will be good for the rescheduled date. Ticketmaster parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, will also offer fans an option to receive credit for future shows as well as the opportunity to donate their tickets. This is a partial reversal of policy that had fans outraged, considering Ticketmaster’s long history of defrauding the fans and paying billions in refunds and credits.Continue reading

Live Nation and AEG, the two ticket agencies and primary large venue owners and biggest concert promoters in the world, have released a statement instructing its touring shows to prepare to return home in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Rock Invasion 2 tour – a sequel to their iconic 1993 Tour that spanned the globe, will kick off on April 23rd in Louisville, KY and will end in Greensboro, NC on May 8th.
