Once upon a time in a faraway land called The Eighties, heavy metal fans had long hair, wore denim and leather, possessed a fierce aversion to all forms of hygiene products, and had absolutely no sense of humour whatsoever. So what? if your favourite bands wore assless chaps, furry loincloths, or looked like an explosion in a clown factory. That was fine. It was metal and metal was serious.

We’re back!

Sure, we might be having to follow a series of new Coronavirus safety protocols which may or not become a regular thing for live shows, but we’re back. And judging by the size of the opening day crowds spilling out from the main entrance, car parks and campsites, not a moment too soon. Since its inception Bloodstock Open Air has always attracted early birds who like nothing more than to arrive long before the gates even open, but this time feels different. Everyone seems to be here early. Coiled springs desperate for release. The festival’s twentieth anniversary isn’t just a celebration of metal this year, it’s a genuine escape.

Amplified Festival 2019 made a major announcement of major bands to play next years festival. Taking place from 19th-21st July 2019. At Quarrydowns, Gloucestershire UK, the fest has announced Mushroomhead as their main stage headliner on 20 July 2019. Also announced are Lawnmower Deth, Idiom, Bloodshot Dawn, The Bad Flowers, Ryders Creed, Those Damn Crows, Rocket Dolls, Black Bullets, Lotus Eater, Esprit D’air, Mortishead, Trc, Seething Akira, Hightown Parade and Awakening Hyperia on the main stage. More bands and ticket info have also been released as seen below. Early Bird Tickets will be on sale until midnight on Halloween. Bloodstock Festival Adds More Bands, Tickets On Sale Now

Bloodstock Festival (aka Bloodstock Open Air or BOA) has added five more bands to its already stacked line-up for 2015. New to the bill are reformed sludge metallers Raging Speedhorn, prog-metal exports Xerath, Trepalium, Villainy and Godsized. Taking place August 6th – 9th at Walton on Trent, Derbyshire UK.
