Heavy Group announces the return of the Heavy Music Awards (HMA) and the arrival of its spectacular new home for 2023, the OVO Arena Wembley on Friday 26 May. Since its inception in 2017, the HMAs has recognised the most influential and groundbreaking creatives in the heavy music landscape and certified itself as a staple of the heavy music awards calendar, with a move to OVO Arena Wembley now cementing the event as the largest rock music awards ceremony ever.
Acclaimed artist and author Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!) has dropped her second solo release of the pandemic with At War With The Silverfish EP, released on her own Big Scary Monsters label. The seven-song effort follows along the raw, stripped-down nature of 2020’s essential Stay Alive release, andrecorded in halves between at Grace’s TinyQuietStudio in Chicago and at Electric Eel in St. Louis, and mixed by Marc Hudson, her bandmate in Devouring Mothers. The EP is available to stream on all DSPs.
Sad news 2000trees – home to Punk and alt-Rock legends every summer is postponed for 2021. The fest gave a lengthy statement to fans as to why the fest cannot take place this year, mainly due to the protracted shutdown, and pandemic. On the plus side, the fest will return for 2022 and the new dates will be 7th, 8th and 9th July 2022. Bands confirmed to return in 2022 include Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, The Amazons, Dinosaur Pile Up, Knocked Loose, The Get Up Kids, Dream State, Laura Jane Grace, Anti-Flag, Lonely The Brave, Stick To Your Guns, Deez Nuts, No Devotion, Dragged Under with a third headliner to be announced and over 100 more bands across six stages.
Iconic Rocker Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! and The Devouring Mothers has released a surprise digital album today on all streaming platforms. The album Stay Alive (Big Scary Monsters) was created during the pandemic and recorded in July by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio. The physical release will arrive on December 11th. Heavy Music Awards have announced Cancer Bats as the headliner for their gala awards show for the third annual Heavy Music Awards at the O2 Forum Kentish Town, London on Thursday 22 August 2019. Tickets are only avaialble at random to fans via sign up for voting at Heavy’s site. If you’ve missed out, look out for competitions in the run-up to the awards for further chances to win. Punk Rock Bowling, the three day music festival held in Downtown Las Vegas on May 23-25, 2015 has announced the 16 late night club shows beginning Friday, May 22, 2015. This gives fans the opportunity to see their favorite bands in a more intimate setting; over 60 bands will take the stage throughout the weekend. All shows are 21 & over with valid ID.
Legendary acts performing in the intimate venues include Frank Turner (performing solo), GBH, The Rezillos, Laura Jane Grace, 7 Seconds, Hagfish, 88 Fingers Louie, Icons of Filth, Aggrocats (featuring members of Aggrolites and Hepcat), Street Dogs,English Beat plus many more.
