System Of A Down, Incubus, Korn, Evanescence and Deftones will headline Sick New World Festival, a new music festival in 2023 featuring some of the biggest names in nu-metal. Among the dozens of bands on the bill, it will mark the reunions of both Flyleaf with lacey Sturm and Coal Chamber. The event will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was the site of the recent When We Were Young Festival, that was forced to cancel one day of the fest due to high winds.

The highly anticipated destination music festival aimed at Punks, elder Emos, and millennials, When We Were Young Festival featuring My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Avril Lavigne has been forced to cancel day one of their sold out event. The cancellation was announced at 10 AM PST, just an hour before gates were to open at Las Vegas Festival Grounds. due to high winds. Winds were forecasted for up to 30-40 MPH which increases the safety hazard for an outdoor stage. The fest is still expected to take place tomorrow and again next weekend; on October 29th, 2022.
Kittie Confirms They Will Perform at When We Were Young Fest
The internet has been savage over the When We Were Young Fest this week as the throwback festival for Emo, Punk, Metalcore and more went on sale yesterday. The festival even added a second day after safe concerns overwhelmed the internet. Many bands seemed to find out they were on the bill, before they knew or confirmed their plan. One such band, Kittie will return to the stage at the fest, based on a post to their socials. The band has not performed since their reunion show at London Music Hall in their native Ontario in 2017, celebrating their documentary Kittie: Origins/Evolutions. The band just celebrated the 22nd anniversary of their debut with an IG live chat with the original four members: Morgan and Mercedes Lander, Fallon Bowman, and Tanya Candler.

A Punk, Emo, and Metalcore kids dream, the lineup includes headliners My Chemical Romance and Paramore. Other bands on the bill include Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, The Linda Lindas, Alkaline Trio, Thursday, AFI, Meet Me @ The Altar, Avril Lavigne, Senses Fail, The Wonder Years, ADTR, Ice Nine Kills, Black Veil Brides, Motionless in White, Atreyu, Four Year Strong, Palaye Royale, Acceptance, Anberlin, Knocked Loose, Silverstein, Bright Eyes, Dance Gavin Dance and more are among the bands announced. Original Kittie Lineup to Host Instagram Live Chat for the 22nd Anniversary of “Spit”
Kittie’s original lineup — Morgan Lander (guitar, vocals), Mercedes Lander (drums), Fallon Bowman (guitar) and Tanya Candler (bass) — will reunite for an online chat today, JAnuary. 11th, 2022 to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of its 2000 debut album, “Spit”. The band made the announcement on their Instagram account where the chat will take place: “Join us tomorrow on IG Live at 7:30pm EST for a little celebration of the 22nd anniversary of our debut album Spit. We’ll hang out and answer some questions! #iglive #spit #happybirthday #joinus #Kittie”. Largely in active as a touring and recording act for the last 10 years, the band released a career-spanning documentary, “Origins/Evolutions”, which finally saw the light of day in 2018 via Lightyear Entertainment in North America and a live concert video the following year.

Drowse have put a decidedly electronic spin on the titanic first Slipknot hit song from their 1999 selt-titled debut album, “Wait And Bleed.” The song appears on the forthcoming nu metal comp from The Flenser, Send the Pain Below, attribute to NuMetal and 1990s nostalgia. Disciples of Verity Share Music Video for “I AM I” ft. Joe Gareri
Rock and Metal supergroup Disciples of Verity (DOV) have shared a new official music video for their song “I AM I.” Their debut album Pragmatic Sanction is out now (read our review here)! The band counts Corey Glover (vocalist Of Living Colour and Bowie Experience), George Pond (bass, ex Negative Sky), Corey Pierce (drums, God Forbid), Mark Monjoy (rhythm guitar, Sekond Skyn), and their debut album is out now! The album boasts guest appearances from Phil Demmel (Vio-lence) Morgan Rose (Sevendust), Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy), Tara McLeod (Kittie), Mike Antine (Majul), JJ Sammataro (Negative Sky), and solo artist Joe Gareri. Kittie to Release “Live at the London Music Hall” Next Week on Streaming
Kittie, largely inactive except for legacy projects, will release a new live concert film, Live at the London Music Hall on November 17th, via The Nacelle Company. The concert will appear on all streaming platforms and Apple Music and covers the 2019 reunion/20th-anniversary reunion shows featuring line-ups from multiple eras, this 20th-anniversary reunion show served as the after-party for their career-spanning documentary, Kittie: Origins/Evolutions.
