Cradle of Filth – Wednesday 13 – Raven Black: Live at Irving Plaza


On a chilly New York night, legions of fans gathered under the moonless
sky to witness the return of the British beasts of extermination, Cradle of Filth. They ascended to a sold-out Irving Plaza to witness the destruction during the Cryptoriana – The Second Coming Of Vice tour, which is a continuation of support for their 2017 album, Cryptoriana –The Seductiveness of Decay. Supporting the tour were Hollywood shock rockers, Wednesday 13 and LA’s own Dark Metal carnies, Raven Black. Together, they put on an unforgettable show.

Allegaeon – Apoptosis


Many years ago in his journey discovering what Heavy Metal meant to him, Trey Azagthoth of Morbid Angel once wisely stated that “Metal people want to get mowed down by viciously sick melodies slamming over an arrangement of beats that twists the body and pulls it in all directions; freak them up.” This brilliant quote still holds true today as it best describes what happens when you listen to the new Allegaeon album entitled Apoptosis (Metal Blade Records). This album is absolutely divine in every way. It takes you on a higher level of transcendence the further you listen to it. It is ART expressed in its purest form and you can easily find yourself getting lost in it. You don’t want it to end and it’s almost heartbreaking when you can to the realization that it will. This album was not only made for the Metalheads who can love and appreciate all forms of it, but for music enthusiast in general. It is the love child between the old and new generations of Metal.

Never have I listened to a band that made me want to learn about more about mythology, the band’s country of origin, their heritage, and their language all in one sitting. If you’re a Týr fan, you’ve most certainly been down this rabbit hole every album cycle – I can’t count how many times I’ve spent my spare time doing endless Google searches learning about mythology and Vikings as well as reading and reciting Faroese lyrics while getting lost in the beauty of their music; it’s like getting high without doing drugs.Continue reading
