Hitmaking Classic Rock Singer Meat Loaf Has Died


Legendary Rock singer Meat Loaf has died. He was 74. No cause of death has yet been revealed. The news of his passing was confirmed on the musician’s Facebook page by his family. Meat Loaf catapulted to fame on the strength of his songwriting partnership with Jim Steinman, who passed away in 2020, and the two of them collaborated on Bat Out of Hell and several sequel albums that saw him sell over 100 million albums with many chart topping hits. Meat Loaf, born Marvin Lee Aday also was a great character actor in memorable films such Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Tenacious D and The Pick of Destiny, and Wayne’s World. With seventeen years on the clock and five albums already in the bag, Finnish sextet Battle Beast are back once again with another head-shaking, neck-breaking slab of electrifying European power metal. For those already familiar with the band then their sixth full length release, Circus of Doom (Nuclear Blast), will be like slipping into an old pair of comfortable, sparkly metal boots. For everyone else who may be interested, just strap on the nearest air guitar and prepare to grin stupidly for the next forty gloriously cheesy minutes or so.

Composer and Producer Jim Steinman Has Died, Age 73


According to a report from TMZ, Classic Rock and Pop Composer and Producing legend Jim Steinman have died. He was 73. Jim had been transported to a Connecticut hospital for an undisclosed medical event and pronounced dead there. The cause of death is as of yet, unraveled. Steinman was world-0reknowned for his collaborations with Meat Loaf on his album Bat Out of Hell and its two chart-topping sequels. He also produced smash hit albums for Bonnie Tyler, Def Leppard, Billy Squire, Sisters of Mercy, Barry Manilow, Air Supply, Celine Dion, Cher, and many others. There was a recent campaign to have Jim and Meat Loaf inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame via Change.org.
