Jeff Scott Soto Shares New Web Series, New Solo Album Due This Fall


Hard rock and progressive music vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (Sons of Apollo, Trans Siberian Orchestra, ex-Journey) will release his new solo album, Wide Awake (In My Dreamland) on November 6 via Frontiers Music Srl. The follow-up to 2017’s Retribution was co-written and produced by Frontiers Music Srl’s in-house producer Alessandro Del Vecchio. The first single from will be made available on Wednesday, September 16. Stars from across Rock and Metal will join together on a livestream to raise money tonight on the David Z Foundation Livestream. David Z (David Zablidowsky) was the brilliant metal and progressive rock musician best known for his work in bands such as Adrenaline Mob, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and ZO2, died three years ago on July 17th, 2017 when a tractor-trailer collided with Adrenaline Mob’s tour bus. ProgPower USA 2020 Canceled, 2021 Festival Announced and GoFundMe Launched


Sadly, the long-running and legendary ProgPower USA has been forced to cancel their 2020 weekend-long festival in September. Promoter Glenn Harveston took to social media to announce that ProgPower USA XXI, the annual Atlanta event is canceled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled for September 8 – 11, 2021. “We can’t social distance in the venue (Centerstage) which is sold out.” The festival has rebooked for 2021 and launched a GoFundMe campaign to try and recover the lost monies from their $14,000 lost to a one-time US Visa application. On the plus side 19 of this year’s anticipated 21 acts have reconfirmed for next year. Theyhavealreadyreceived 25K of the 14k goal. Continue reading

In a tweet from keyboardist Derek Sherinian, Sons of Apollo have finished recording their next album. The supergroup features former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Sherinian, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force) and just released their live album Live With The Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony on August 30 via InsideOut Music.
