Iced Earth Guitarist Jon Schaffer Has Cut a Deal in His Case with the US Government


Iced Earth guitarist and founder Jon Schaeffer and his lawyers have cut a deal in the case the US Government has building against him, bringing six federal charges his role in the insurrection against the United States on January 6th at the Capitol. Schaeffer has charged with six federal crimes. Last week his attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the charges against the guitarist for his involvement under the claim that the government has violated the Speedy Trial Act, which establishes maximum time periods for different stages of federal criminal prosecution. Since the Speedy Trial Act required the government to file an information or an indictment within 30 days of Schaffer’s arrest, the “complaint must be dismissed,” they wrote. A judge had ruled that Schaffer would be held without bail until a trial.

Schaeffer has charged with six federal crimes. He has been in a cell since January 17th. Now, the attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss the charges against the guitarist for his involvement under the claim that the government has violated the Speedy Trial Act, which establishes maximum time periods for different stages of federal criminal prosecution. Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer Arrested for His Role During the Insurrection in The Capitol


Iced Earth leader Jon Schaffer, who has been on The FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list, has been arrested for his role in the riot and insurrection at The US Capitol, on January 6th, 2021. According to a report by Metal Sucks, Schaffer turned himself into authorities around 3 p.m. Sunday (January 17), Chris Bavender, public affairs specialist for the FBI Indianapolis Field Office, said. He resides in Columbus, Indiana. The FBI Indianapolis Field Office released the following statement regarding Schaffer’s arrest:

An Amnesia Rockfest documentary titled Montebello Rock Village: the story of Rockfest is currently in the works, and stream the trailer below. Ongoing project since 2010, the film will finally see the light of day this Fall to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival. The film will tell the unique story of the event, from its modest beginnings with 500 festival-goers to present-day, now the largest rock festival in Canada.

Over 200 bands will be featured in the documentary. Members of Bad Religion, The Offspring, Pennywise, Korn, NOFX and Lagwagon appear in the trailer.

Gatineau, QC death metallers Insurrection have posted the video for “Prototype,” filmed by La Corp here.

This video for the title track of their first crowd funded and third full length album produced by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) that was released via Canadian label Galy Records in late 2013.
