The 10th and 11th of December saw the third weekend of Incubate 2016. Incubate is a festival with a very broad scope, where music, film, documentary, and art are brought together in Tilburg and spread over several venues. This Sunday, one of the ten venues, the Dudok, was curated by the folk from the Little Devil, Tilburg’s heavy metal beer bar and concert venue, under the name LittleDevilXL.
The December edition of The Netherlands’ long-running avant-garde festival supreme, Incubate is fast approaching in a few weeks. Taking place December 10th and 11th; final performers, a creator-based comic book fair, and a Pole-Dancing Contest with Drone Plane experts have all been added to complete the lineup. Let’s tell you something about Incubate first; This cultural circus settles itself in Tilburg every year for a week. With art and theatre and music of various kinds, lectures and general cultural goodness it’s known to turn every pub into a venue. It’s not particularly known as a metal festival, however enticing us with a black metal Friday this year, billing names such as Immortal and Mayhem, we couldn’t resist to take a peek. This year Susanne Maathuis and Kaat van Doremalen will brave the tidal wave of different cultural influences to report on the darker and louder sides of this wonderful festival. He made quite an impact with Godflesh, which earned him the status of being one of the leading figures in the industrial and post metal scenes. He also explored pretty everything between techno, ambient, hip hop and whatnot.
