Tom Petty’s Family Sent President Trump a Cease and Desist Letter for Using “I Won’t Back Down”


The family and estate of Tom Petty has sent a cease and desist letter to President Donald Trump for his use of his classic song “I Won’t Back Down” from his album Full Moon Fever (Geffen Records). The President held his first presidential campaign rally yesterday at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Attendees of the mostly empty arena heard Petty’s classic song at the end of the rally. Petty’s surviving family was outraged as they were always an inclusive act, the song is for “the everyman and the underdog”, and don’t want to be associated with Trump’s policy. Continue reading
