Legendary Metal Edge Editor Gerri Miller Has Died, Rockers React


According to a report at Blabbermouth.net, longtime Metal Edge editor and metal journalism trailblazer Gerri Miller has died on Sunday, March 14 after a long battle with cancer. She was 67. In addition to being a pioneering music journalist especially focused on rock and metal, putting countless bands on the map in the 1980s and 1990s, print and web outlets, including Glamour, People.com, MNN.com, Lupus Now, Muscle & Fitness, Jewish Journal, Brain World, FromtheGrapevine.com and ScienceNewsForStudents.com. Gerri was a fixture in the American rock and heavy metal scene and could often be spotted at shows in both Los Angeles and New York, and elsewhere in the world. Formed in 1985, Metal Edge rean for 24 years and published monthly, with Miller at the helm in the formative years that led it to the top of metal music journalism. Many rockers, such as Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Anthrax, Warrant, Slaughter, Skid Row, and many others took to social media once the news broke to share their grief.
