The return of Guns `N Roses is picking up steam in real tangible ways, not just the music industry rumor mill and the internet. Their website recently switched from the Chinese Democracy-style album cover to the more classic “GNR seal logo”. Also fans seeing Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens in some cities were treated to a cryptic trailer with the bands music, crowd noise and other elements indicating concerts or a performance. Another more concrete clue may lay with Alex Martel, the booker of the annual Amnesia Rockfest in Canada. As reported by 99scennes.com, in a post to his personal Facebook account, Alex speculated that the band is seeking 3-4 times what the 2015 headliner, System of A Down was paid. SOAD was paid between 1-2 million USD for the gig, meaning that GNR maybe seeing 6-8 million dollars for their appearance. Typically headline bands for major festivals command 1-2 million dollars for the larger and more exclusive appearances. As previously reported by Ghost Cult, the band has been in talks with promoters and planning a comeback in 2016 in some way. This may or may not include all of the original members, but will at least count Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan in its ranks.

UPDATE: Guns N’ Roses Reunion May Not Feature All Original Members

ThePulseOfRadio.com is reporting a “well-placed rumor” that any reunion of Guns N’ Roses may not include either the classic lineup, nor members from other early lineups of the band. According to the source, the lineup will certainly feature W. Axl Rose, Slash (Saul Hudson) and Duff McKagan from the original line-up. Beyond that it is unknown if either the reclusive Izzy Stadlin or Stephen Adler would be extended an invitation. Also unknown is whether Matt Sorum, who replaced Adler and was the longest-tenured GNR drummer would be invited back, or if Slash and fan favorite Gilby Clarke might appear as well. Keyboardist Dizzy Reed has continued to play with the latest incarnation of the band, and is assumed to return. A more likely scenario is that the original line-up of the band would be joined by current GNR members drummer Frank Ferrara and guitarist Richard Fortus.

As previously reported by Ghost Cult, Dishnation.com published a news story claiming that the “original lineup” Guns N’ Roses are set to reunite and begin a world tour, with the announcement being just “days away”.

As reported on the website:

Slash and Axl have verbally agreed to get things together again and reform the original band. The live shows is where they can show the world what they had and also make the greatest earnings.”

Promoters are quietly working away to land opportunities. Details of the reunion are expected to leak out in the next few days. Everyone is expecting huge demand for tickets, but the boys are very humble and are not sure what to expect.”

Video: Slash And Duff Of Guns N Roses Reunite On Stage For Benefit

slashduffwonderland2015_638

Guns N’ Roses co-founders Slash and Duff McKagan reunited this past weekend on stage, performing at a benefit event for the Wonderland Avenue School in Los Angeles. They were joined on stage by their Velvet Revolver bandmate Dave Kushner, Apocalyptica singer Franky Perez and drummer Bill Burr for a cover of AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’. You can see the fan filmed video at this link or below.

Founded in 1927, Wonderland is a public kindergarten through fifth grade campus nestled in the Hollywood Hills above Los Angeles.

Slash and Guns N Roses frontman William “Axl” Rose ended their nearly 20 year feud recently; with Slash remarking that while the two on good terms, it would take a lot for a full-fledged reunion of that band to ever happen.

Still, with the 30th anniversary of Appetite For Destruction (Geffen) looming in two years the internet is buzzing with speculation and rumor that the band will reunite.

As for Velvet Revolver members on stage, that band has been on hiatus as they continue to search for a new singer. The band has never fully broken up amidst the hope they will find a replacement for Scott Weiland.
