To mark not only the birthday of Rock icon David Bowie, but five years since his untimely death from cancer, a legion of rock stars influences but the music giant will gather on January 8, 2021, for a concert. Mike Garson and producers Stacey Sher and Kerry Brown have joined forces with Rolling Live Studios to produce “A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!”, bringing together dozens of Bowie alumni band members spanning Bowie’s career from his 1969 self-titled album to his final album, “Blackstar”, along with many of the world’s most famous voices for a very special experience. The concert will feature performances from Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Bowie’s good friend and Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman, Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Grammy-winning Singer Macy Gray, Ian Astbury (The Cult), Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz), Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones), Corey Glover (Living Color), Tony-winning rocker Lena Hall, vocal phenom Judith Hill (Grammy winner for “20 Feet From Stardom”), and many more to be announced. In a new interview with Tucson’s rock station Rock 102.1 KFMA., Bush has announced their new album The Kingdom, will officially arrive on July 17th. Gavin Rossdale described the new music as : “It’s just really heavy and wide and just of the time. It’s really of the time — that’s what I like about it. It feels really necessary — a necessary record. The band’s on fire. It’s just exciting.” Bush has released two singles in the last year: ‘Flowers On A Grave’ and last year’s ‘Bullet Holes’, from the John Wick 3 Parabellum soundtrack. Their last album 2017’s Black And White Rainbows. Bush’s current lineup also includes guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes.
Bush has set The Mind Plays Tricks On You as the title of their new album, due for release next fall, with the date yet to be announced. The disc was recorded at a Los Angeles studio with film composer Tyler Bates, who has previously worked with Marilyn Manson. The new album will feature a song called ‘Bullet Holes’, which will also be featured in the upcoming film John Wick 3. Two icons on 1990s rock music, Live and Bush will band together for a co-headline tour this summer, performing at arenas and Amphitheaters nationwide for “The ALT-Imate Tour”. Live will be celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of Throwing Copper (Radioactive/MCA) and Bush will be celebrating their smash debut Sixteen Stone (Trauma/Interscope).
