Slash Drops A New Single and Video for “Killing Floor” Featuring Brian Johnson and Steve Tyler – New Album Coming Soon



Slash has released a new single; his take on the Howlin’ Wolf blues classic, “Killing Floor.” The track features Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith on harmonica, and Slash’s blues band; Johnny Griparic (bass), Teddy Andreadis (keyboards), Michael Jerome (drums), and Tash Neal (vocals/guitar). The iconic guitarist has also announced that his sixth solo album, Orgy of the Damned, will be released on May 17 via Gibson Records. Tool, Cage The Elephant, and Gary Clark Jr. Win for Metal and Rock at the 62nd Grammy Awards


The Grammy Awards announced their winners for the Rock and Metal categories for the 2020 award ceremony, their 62nd edition. Tool won for the Best Metal Performance category for the song ‘7empest’ from their album Fear Inoculum (Tool Dissectional/RCA). Tool members Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor were in attendance to collect the award, which was announced before the broadcast portion of the show. Gary Clark Jr. who was nominated over several categories for multiple tracks won both Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for the track ‘This Land’. Best Rock album honors went to Cage the Elephant for Social Cues. In the more pop-orientated Alternative Rock category, Vampire Weekend won, while other Rock and Metal related artists such as Chris Cornell won for the packaging of his posthumous self-titled boxed set, and The Best Instrumental Album went to metal fans and sometimes cover artists Rodrigo y Gabriella for Mettavolution (ATO Records) The 62nd Grammy Awards are once again hosted by Alicia Keys and will air on CBS.

An all-star affair, Morello, best known for Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and Prophets Of Rage worked with GZA, Gary Clark Jr., K. Flay, Pretty Lights, Portugal. Bonnaroo Festival has announced their line-up for 2015 with their annual Bonnaroo Line-up Announcement Megathon or B.L.A.M. Billy Joel who has never played the festival, was a surprising but inspired choice as a headliner. Joining the veteran rocker on the line-up is Robert Plant and the Sensational Space, who once again plays the fest. From the metal world Slayer was announced earlier as well as artists from the across rock, pop and indie music landscape. Past metal bands to play the fest include Metallica, Opeth and Mastodon. The B.L.A.M. event ramps up fan excitement while enticing fans to share and promote their favorite artists on the fest via Social Media.

Gary Clark Jr will be supporting Foo Fighters on select dates on the North American leg of their 2015 tour. He appeared on their track “What Did I Do/God Is My Witness,” as well as appeared on the Austin episode of Sonic Highways HBO series and performed with the band on the 40th Aniversary of PBS-TV’s Austin City Limits.
