Treedeon Streaming Lowest Level Reincarnation In Entirety

treedon

Berlin’s Treedeon is streaming their debut album Lowest Level Reincarnation, out April 7, 2015 in North America, via Exile On Mainstream, here.

A more than fifty-minute-long, full-on, rocked-out sludge assault awaits the listener within these eight raw songs, and confrontationally carved out of depression and channeled in to a maelstrom monstrosity of guitar, bass and drums.

After the almost simultaneous demise of Germany’s noise-stalwarts Ulme and seminal crossover icons Jingo de Lunch, Ulme guitarist and singer Arne and Jingo de Lunch singer Yvonne formed an acoustic band named Treedeon. Their first show was a set at 2012’s South Of Mainstream Festival, stepping up to replace the disbanded Ulme, and out of the death of two bands came opportunity, as shortly after, a second gig was booked at Berlin’s Schokoladen, where Kaeng-shell punisher Boomer pledged himself as the missing link by offering to play drums. Songs were laid out, written, and rehearsed in a dark cellar, leading to their first demo being released in November 2013. The demo made very clear that the acoustic approach had been revised, overwhelmed by a new (but by no means surprising) monstrous Valkyrie of sheer heaviness, dueling vocals, and screams of emotional terror.

A much louder rendition of TREEDEON played a first show in their local hangout, Franken Bar, while their second show brought them to the infamous Roadburn Festival, as part of Exile On Mainstream’s fifteen year anniversary showcase. And what an impression they left! The digitally released demo began rolling around among dedicated punters and created quite a buzz for the band, culminating in an invitation to play the Stoned From The Underground Festival in July 2014. From this gig on, the band rooted themselves very much in the conscience of lovers of noise, sludge, and all kinds of heavy pumping riffage.

Enablers Releasing The Rightful Pivot April 10th

enablers

San Francisco’s Enablers will release their fifth full length album The Rightful Pivot on April 10, 2015 via Exile On Mainstream handling the CD release in conjunction with Lancashire and Somerset handling the LP and Atypeek Music releasing the album digitally. Watch the album trailer here.

The Rightful Pivot Track Listing:
01. Went Right
02. She Calls After You
03. The Percentages
04. Look
05. Solo
06. Good Shit
07. West Virginia
08. Enopolis

Formed in 2002, Enablers’ subsequent four LPs and two EPs have all achieved a certifiable non-compliance with standard approaches to “spoken word” music, and their latest proves to be a further development in the band’s powerful sense for difference and absolute indifference to classification. The Rightful Pivot will come as a treat to explorers of unique expression.

Since the 2004 release of their first LP, End Note (Neurot Recordings), Enablers has established a new direction in spoken word music. The prose and poetry of Pete Simonelli (published poet, writer, and audiobook narrator) is intricately woven into the dynamic interplay of guitarists Joe Goldring (former Swans, Toiling Midgets, Touched By A Janitor) and Kevin Thomson (former Nice Strong Arm, Timco, Touched By A Janitor), and is punctuated by drummer Sam Ospovat (PIKI, Beep!, tUnE-yArDs, William Winant).

Musically, the compositions range from melodic minimalism to heavy, rhythmically challenging thickets of sound. Following End Note was Output Negative Space (Neurot Recordings) and Tundra (Exile on Mainstream) as well as two EP’s featuring extended improvisations (The Achievement on Awesome Vistas and Now You Can Answer My Prayers on Lancashire and Somerset). With an almost entirely DIY approach to touring and intense live performances, the band continually pleases fans in the underground of the European continent and the UK, and have earned merit as a consistently visible band, always on the road. Their last release, Blown Realms and Stalled Explosions (Exile On Mainstream and Lancashire and Somerset Dance Society), found Enablers evolving even more. The record’s textural and evocative sound realized a new direction while maintaining the distinct elements of musicianship and imagination that made the previous releases so engaging.

Treedeon Streaming “Blankapitation”

treedeon

Berlin based trio Treedeon is streaming “Blankapitation,” off their album Lowest Level Reincarnation, out on April 7, 2015 via Exile On Mainstream, here.

Stream “Terracide” here.

Down-tuned, mean, and riding on a wave of undulating distortion, ‘Blankapitation’ weighs in heavy, but with eight songs delivering a full spectrum of sonic rock assault, Lowest Level Reincarnation is raw, rich in diversity and in your face, carved out of depression and channeled in to a maelstrom monstrosity of guitar, bass and drums.

After the almost simultaneous demise of Germany’s noise-stalwarts Ulme and seminal crossover icons Jingo de Lunch, Ulme guitarist and singer Arne and Jingo de Lunch singer Yvonne formed an acoustic band named TREEDEON. The band recorded at Studio Wong in Berlin throughout November 2014, putting together this, their debut album; Lowest Level Reincarnation.

Conny Ochs – Black Happy

After a successful collaboration with Scott ‘Wino’ Weinrich for 2012’s Heavy Kingdom, Conny Ochs is back with his follow-up to pick-up from his 2011 debut solo album Raw Love. After a decade’s worth of time spent in various bands in one capacity or another he certainly has his songwriting craft down to something more than just the usual insipid formula spewed out by the modern charts. Taking in elements of folk, blues, country and Americana and yet sounding like none of these Conny Ochs, like his countryman Shino, is admirably walking the same path as the greats but refreshingly, is not simply reproducing their work.Continue reading
