In a new interview, Mastodon has revealed that they have recorded a new single, that they will release soon. It will be the first new music since the band released 2017’s Emperor of Sand (Reprise). The band recently opened their own new studio and will spend part of 2019 recording their new album there. The band hits the road in Europe next week. The track, potentially timed to release with the tour will feature frequent collaborator and inspiration to Mastodon, Scott Kelly of post-Metal legends Neurosis, who will also feature on the tour and perform live with the band. Mastodon To Begin Writing New Album In Early 2019
In a new interview,Mastodon drummer and lead vocalist Brann Dailor revealed the band is already planning the follow-up to 2017’s Emperor Of Sand (Reprise) album. The band is already sketching out ideas while on tour, most recently with Primus and upcoming Canadian tour dates with Dinosaur Jr., and will reconvene officially early next year to begin in earnest.
