On the latest edition of The Metallica Podcast, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo swapped Elton John and Bernie Taupin stories ahead of the bands’ performance at The Gershwin Awards. The last two episodes focused on their producer and live performance mixer Greg Fidelman. On this weeks’ episode they also discussed their prior appearance on Howard Stern with Miley Cyrus where Elton called “Nothing Else Matters” from The Black Album is “one of the greatest songs ever written,” infamously making James Hetfield cry. Elton John Announces His Final North American and European Tour Dates Ever


 

Elton John began his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in 2018, intended to cap off his fifty-plus year career. Interrupted by the pandemic, Elton has now announced his final dates ever for North American and Europe. In a video statement on his website, he also said he intends to tour Australia as well. He is planning to spend the rest of his life dedicating more time to raising his children. Pre-sales to his Rocket Club fanclub go on sale this Friday June 25th. Tickets go on sale for Europe June 29th and June 30th for the public. See the announced US dates below and the ticket on sale link, as well as a message from Elton himself!

Neil Young Derides President Trump Over Use of His Music at Mt. Rushmore Rally


Neil Young has joined the ranks of Adele, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Village People, R.E.M. and the estates of Tom Petty and Prince are among a raft of other artists to demand Trump stop using their tracks at his rallies. The iconic multiple Rock N Roll Hall of Famer took to social media via several of his accounts to voice his anger after his songs were played at Trump’s Independence Day celebration at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Young, who is Canadian but became an American Citizen in January 2020, does not want his music played at Trump events, as “Like A Hurricane,” “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Cowgirl in the Sand” ― were played during Trump’s Independence Day celebration at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial on Friday night.
