ALBUM REVIEW: Static Abyss – Aborted From Reality


 

To be perfectly frank, the biggest issue with Static AbyssAborted from Reality (Peaceville Records) is that they decided to release the album the same year as Obituary’s recent destroyer, Dying of Everything. It’s been a consistent thorn on the side of Chris Reifert and Greg Wilkinson for quite some time as Obituary has always outshined their most well-known project, Autopsy, as well.

ALBUM REVIEW: Obituary – Dying of Everything


 

I believe Nergal of Behemoth fame had a recent interview lamenting how modern metal acts run the risk of overproducing their albums and not coming across as organic. (Editor’s note: this is not new for him to say.) And the metal fanbase fought amongst itself online as it usually does, but I think the man may have a point. Lots of Death Metal records have come across my desk recently that aren’t as grimy as they should be. One act without said issue is old reliable Obituary with Dying of Everything (Relapse Records).

Obituary Shares a New Single and Video for “My Will To Live”


Obituary will release their new album, Dying of Everything, due out 13th January via Relapse Records. They have also unveiled the second single / video from the record, the title track!
