Alice In Chains is being honored by Seattle’s MoPop Museum of Pop Culture on December 1st, and the band will be celebrated by a cadre of their peers, as well as hold their first performance of 2020. Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana are among the artists who will take part in virtual tribute performances when AIC is presented with this year’s Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Founders Award. Ozzy Osbourne’s “Ordinary Man” Album Lands on Billboard’s “Top 50 Albums of 2020 So Far” List


Even though pop culture and most of the music industry doesn’t care about rock or metal, mainstream critics sometimes surprise you. Ozzy Osbourne’s comeback album, Ordinary Man, (Epic Records, review here:) has been named to Billboard Magazine’s Top 50 Albums of 2020 So Far list from their staff. Extra special in that accolade is that Ozzy has one of only two Rock albums in the list of mainly Pop, Rap, and Dance music albums; the other being by The Strokes. Ordinary Man was produced and written by Andrew Watt, with other writers and performers such as Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses on bass, with Sir Elton John on vocals and piano, Slash on lead guitar, Tom Morello (RATM) on guitar and Post Malone!

Guns N Roses Shares “Live And Let Die” Shirt Trolling The President


In a story Ghost Cult broke the news of earlier in the week, Guns N Roses cover of ‘Live and Let Die’ (originally by Paul McCartney) was played at The President visited a mask factory in the soon to reopen state of Arizona. Never one to miss a chance for commerce, they have released at “Live and Let Die with COVID-45” shirt for fans. As seen below, the shirt features the name of the song, albeit with Guns N’ Roses dedication to the “‘n,” and it appears to take it shot at Trump as well, reading: “Live N’ Let Die With COVID-45.” Trump is the 45th president of the United States.Continue reading


Guns N Roses Are Working on a New Album During Quarantine

In a story we have been following, Guns N Roses have been “working fastidiously on killer stuff” for their much-anticipated new album. The news of GN’R progress on the follow-up to 2008’s Chinese Democracy LP was broken by Susan Holmes McKagan, wife of Guns bassist Duff McKagan, during an appearance on the latest episode of the “Appetite For Distortion” podcast. She said (hear audio below): “I will say GN’R have been working fastidiously on killer new stuff. And I can’t say much, but I’ve heard bits and bobs and it’s pretty epic. I do wanna spread the good news, but not detailed news, I guess.” Ever since Duff, guitarist Slash and singer Axl Rose reunited in 2016 as Guns N Roses, rumors have been circulating that new music from the band — the first to feature the three “classic-lineup” members since 1993 — was in the works. The band reportedly already recorded a cover song for a Record Store Day release that has as yet remained unreleased.

Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan To Launch A New Radio Show- “Three Chords & The Truth”


Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan will launch a new radio show “Three Chords & The Truth” on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard (SiriusXM Ch. 38) tomorrow (Friday, March 20). This weekly show will be hosted by McKagan and his nephew Dexter Charles, who will personally curate their favorite songs to play for loyal fans, as well as provide intellectual commentary and insight behind the music. New episodes every Friday at 11 a.m. ET, with encores on Saturday (9 a.m. ET), Sunday (3 p.m. ET), Monday (7 a.m. ET), Tuesday (11 p.m. ET). Guns N Roses Adds Second London Concert for 2020 Due To Overwhelming Demand


Due to overwhelming demand, Guns N Roses has had to add a second show in London next May. The new London date at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is scheduled for May 30 — one day after the previously announced concert at the same venue. A statement about the U.K. shows reads: “The event marks the first live music concert to be staged at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the venue opened in April this year and the two nights will be the only dates that the band will be performing their enormous and beloved catalogue of hits in the U.K.” Tickets are on sale now through Live Nation. The GNR “Not In This Lifetime” tour, which began three and a half years ago, recently became the No. 3 highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore.Continue reading


Duff McKagan Shares New Video – “Cold Outside”, Supporting Homeless Charity Initiative


Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses has released a new video for his track ‘Cold Outside’. The video addresses the growing homeless crisis facing the U.S. and is being released on “Giving Tuesday.” The release coincides with a Propeller campaign that benefits Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. The video was designed to help raise awareness and support during the holiday season for the Mission and their work to provide emergency care and long-term recovery services to the hurting and homeless people in the greater Seattle area. ‘Cold Outside’ was featured on Duff’s new solo album Tenderness (UMe) released earlier this year. Watch Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses Unbox the New Prince “1999” Boxed Set


Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagan has been commissioned to write the liner notes for the new reissue of Prince’s 1982 all-time great album 1999. due this Friday for Record Store Day Black Friday by Warner Bros. The set comes in three versions: super deluxe (5 CDs or 10 LPs and DVD); deluxe (2 CDs or 4 LPs) and remastered album (1 CD or 2 LPs). The 5xCD/10xLP “super deluxe edition” will feature 35 previously unreleased tracks from Prince’s vault, as well as a DVD containing footage from his 1999 tour stop at the Houston Summit on December 29, 1982. Also included will be photos by Allen Beaulieu, who worked with Prince in the early ’80s, and additional liner notes by longtime Rolling Stone critic David Fricke, the Current radio host Andrea Swensson, and Prince scholar Duane Tudahl. Talyor Hawkins (Foo Fighters, Chevy Metal) and his new band Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders have shared a new single, the title track from their upcoming new album.
