As of February 2022, the UK’s Dream State lingered in limbo after the announcement came that all music fans fear. Vocalist CJ Gilpin and guitarist Rhys Wilcox would be departing from the lineup. Both band members stepped down for personal/mental health reasons, but as for the last remaining founding member, Aled Evans decided to charge forward instead of closing the book for good.Continue reading


2000trees Festival 2021 is Postponed, 2022 Dates Announced and Some Bands Confirmed


Sad news 2000trees – home to Punk and alt-Rock legends every summer is postponed for 2021. The fest gave a lengthy statement to fans as to why the fest cannot take place this year, mainly due to the protracted shutdown, and pandemic. On the plus side, the fest will return for 2022 and the new dates will be 7th, 8th and 9th July 2022. Bands confirmed to return in 2022 include Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, The Amazons, Dinosaur Pile Up, Knocked Loose, The Get Up Kids, Dream State, Laura Jane Grace, Anti-Flag, Lonely The Brave, Stick To Your Guns, Deez Nuts, No Devotion, Dragged Under with a third headliner to be announced and over 100 more bands across six stages.

Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, Fever333, Bloodstock Open Air and More Win at The Heavy Music Awards


The third annual Heavy Music Awards were announced last night at a packed O2 Forum Kentish Town, hosted by Laura Jane Grace alongside live performances by Cancer Bats, Loathe, Nova Twins and Delaire The Liar. For the third year in a row, Architects took home a major win with two awards here – the first time any winner has picked up multiple awards at the same HMAs. The Brighton act picked up Best Album for Holy Hell, as well as Best Live Band. Other bands that won include Bring Me The Horizon, Parkway Drive, Fever333, Bloodstock Open Air for best festival, Dream State, photographer Paul Harries and more. When Slam Dunk formed in 2006 it had a bill of 7 bands at a sole location in Leeds with a small capacity of a few thousand, skip to 12 years on and oh my has it grown!
