Dream Theater has released the third in a series of three in the studio interviews with the band where they discuss the making of their new album Distance Over Time, releasing on February 22, 2019, via InsideOut Music. The band discusses the album, the process of writing and recording and more. The artwork for Distance Over Time was created by long-time cover collaborator Hugh Syme (Rush, Iron Maiden, Stone Sour) and was produced by guitarist John Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker. As we previously reported at Ghost Cult, Dream Theater are releasing a brand new album via their new album InsideOutMusic and embarking on a massive world tour in early 2019. As teased by their tour poster, the band will perform their entire 1999 classic album Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory every night of the tour, along with select new songs and hits. Dream Theater Collaborates With Fans To Reveal New Album Title, First Tour Dates

Prog metal legends Dream Theater have announced Distance Over Time as the tiled of their forthcoming album, due in February of 2019 via InsideOut Music. The cover art and a teaser with new song sample can be seen below. The band also announced new tour dates. The tour poster includes the tagline “Celebrating 20 Years Of Scenes From A Memory” a nod to the group’s 1999 concept album Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory, which the band has not performed live in its entirety in almost twenty years. To make the announcement the band enlisted their fans to spread the word about the release and even to break the news of the record release date, cover artwork, and to share the first sample of new music with an interactive game.
