The Black will be the first new music with new frontman Denis Shaforostov at the helm. Guitarist Ben Bruce reflects on changing singers and the new course the band has set:

“We hadn’t reached our destination yet, and Danny (Worsnop) had. I think it was necessary. When it happened, I was devastated. I lost my best friend. We even started referring to this part of our career as ‘the black period.’ It was the darkest time, but we weren’t going to give up. If he hadn’t left, I don’t think we would’ve been as inspired as we were. I also don’t think Asking Alexandria would still be around. Instead, we’re more excited than ever about this band.”

Asking Alexandria Introduce New Singer Denis Shaforostov

Former Make Me Famous frontman Denis Shaforostov has been confirmed as the new vocalist of Asking Alexandria. Stream the new song “I Won’t Give In,” with Shaforostov on vocals below.

Guitarist Ben Bruce stated in a recent interview about the new addition:

“Everyone guessed it was Denis, and I think they did so because they know Denis was the right choice to make. He’s an incredibly talented vocalist, from the multiple wide range of screams that Asking Alexandria obviously needs and will continue to have, and his singing and range is out of this world. He’s been a fan of the band for a long time, so he’s familiar with all our old songs, and he really cares about the band. He’s a passionate, cool guy; it’s the perfect scenario.”

Shaforostov added:

“I had this gut feeling, man; I totally felt something big was going to happen right before the guys reached out to me. It’s crazy. Honestly, I’ve never been waiting for such an opportunity to ever knock at my door but, as the same time, I was always ready for it. Without a doubt, I was extremely stoked and I poured all of my emotions into the writing for the new Asking Alexandria record.”
