Not content with sitting on their hands, Brazilian thrashers Sepultura decided early on during the Coronavirus Lockdown to do something constructive with their new found spare time. After touring plans for their current record were cut short by the pandemic, the band contacted seemingly everybody in the world of metal and proceeded to embark upon Sepulquarta (Nuclear Blast), a live album recorded with each member in isolation.

Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel Books the “The Bay Strikes Back Tour”
Bay Area Thrash legends Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel will embnark on the “The Bay Strikes Back Tour” USA tour this fall! The 30 date trek will kick off on October 6th at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, CA and will make stops in Austin, New York, and Detroit before concluding at The Fox in Oakland on November 27th. General admission tickets for the tour will go on sale on Thursday, July 1st at 10:00 AM local time. Blabbermouth will have a ticket pre-sale starting Tuesday, June 29th at 10 am local until Tuesday, June 29th at 10 pm local (PW: TITANS).

ALBUM REVIEW: Entropy – Force Convergence
Formed in 1989, but with less than a handful of full-length studio albums to their name, Canadian thrashers Entropy aren’t exactly the most prolific act in the universe. A seventeen-year absence from 1995 to 2012, and a gap of eight years since their previous album hasn’t helped, but whenever the two remaining original members, vocalist Ger Schreinert, and guitarist Dan Lauzon, do eventually get together, the results are always worth waiting for.Continue reading

Filmmaker Adam Dubin chatted with Ghost Cult recently about the wide release of his acclaimed documentary, Murder In The Front Row, documenting the birth of Bay Area Thrash Metal scene, which birthed several genres. We chatted about the impetus to making the film, all the thrash metal stars he interviewed such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, and Death Angel (53 all told) his history in the business, making films and music videos in 1980’s such as Beastie Boys “Fight For Your Right To Party” and “No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn”, his long history of interactions with Kerry King, the lasting impact the genre has had on all heavy music, and what he learned most during the project. Murder In The Front Row, the amazing thrash history documentary directed by Adam Dubin (Beastie Boys “Fight For Your Right To Party” & “No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn”), is seeing a wide release this Friday, April 24th via Digital Platforms and as Deluxe Edition DVD. “Rumors Of My Death Have Greatly Been Exaggerated” Says Death Angel Drummer Will Carroll from the Hospital
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic grips the world the music world has already lost legends of yore and star hitmakers. The metal world has been affected as well. Legends like Chuck Billy and Gary Holt were on tour together in Europe at the dawn the outbreak. Another rocker on that tour was good guy and drummer of Death Angel of Will Carroll was severely stricken by the coronavirus and was on a ventilator and in a coma for two weeks. Will has recovered although he is still in the hospital, he has sent a message to fans, thanking them for their love and support. Continue reading
Tonight’s “The Bay Strikes Back” Tour Date from Testament, Exodus and Death Angel is Canceled Over Coronavirus Fears
Sad news for German Thrash Metal fans! Tonight’s concert (March 11th) in Hannover, Germany featuring Testament, Exodus and Death Angel (a.k.a. The Bay Strikes Back tour) has been canceled due to a fast-spreading outbreak of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19). The three bands, who have spent the past month on the road in Europe as part of “The Bay Strikes Back 2020” tour, previously had their February 25 show in Milan, Italy scrapped for the same reason. Testament Shares New Single – “Children Of The Next Level”
Thrash Metal legends Testament have shared a new single, ‘Children Of The Next Level’ from their forthcoming Titans Of Creation, which will be released on April 3 via Nuclear Blast. Jam out to the song now! The album was produced by singer Chuck Billy and guitarist Eric Peterson while Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios handled co-producing, recording and engineering. Andy Sneap was responsible for the mixing and mastering of the album. Eliran Kantor stepped up once again to create a new masterpiece of artwork for the cover of this release.
