Roadburn 2020 Adds Alexis Marshall, Darkher, Forndom, The Devil’s Trade, LSD and The Search For God, Doodswens and More

Roadburn 2020 is nearly sold out, with just a few Sunday tickets left for the legendary music festival held annually in Tilburg April 16th to 19th, NL. New bands added to the bill Alexis Marshall, Darkher, Forndom, The Devil’s Trade, LSD and The Search For God, Doodswens, Kodian Trio, Jonah Parzen-Johnson, The Sweet Release Of Death, Motor!K, Of Blood And Mercury, and Vonnis. In addition, Ignition, The Roadburn Pre-show party will take place Wednesday night at 013 Club and features Early Graves, Splinter, and The Dead Cvlt. Alcest, Okkultokrati, Inter Arma, Helms Alee, Algiers and More Added to Roadburn 2020

Roadburn 2020 has made a slew of announcements of news bands! Added to both James Kent and Emma Ruth Rundle’s curated portions of the festival is Alcest, on the strength of their new album Spiritual Instinct (Nuclear Blast). Enigmatic indie rock geniuses Wovenhand have released a new track from their forthcoming album, Star Treatment. You can hear ‘The Hired Hand’ at this link here or below:

 

Star Treatment will be available on Sargent House will be available worldwide excluding Europe on LP, CD and download worldwide, except in Europe, where it will be released by longtime Wovenhand label Glitterhouse Records on September 9th. The band previously premiered another album track Stereogum previously premiered the album track ‘Come Brave’.

The band kicks off an extensive tour this weekend, perfroming at Psycho Las Vegas ahead of a huge European tours, with support from Emma Ruth Rundle (also a Sargent House artist).

The driving force of is songwriter/multi-instrumentalist David Eugene Edwards (16 Horsepower). The rest of the band’s current lineup includes guitarist Chuck French, bassist Neil Keener (both of Planes Mistaken For Stars) and drummer Ordy Garrison, now joined by piano/synth player Matthew Smith (Crime & The City Solution). Star Treatment was recorded at Steve Albini’s legendary Electrical Audio in Chicago with engineer Sanford Parker, who also helmed Wovenhand’s 2014 album Refractory Obdurate.

Edwards commented on Star Treatment:

“It’s ethereal in its concept. There are many layers, as always. I’ve been paying attention to the stars in the sky and in literature, and it’s a theme throughout the album.” He adds, “There’s more love song style on this in general, which is nice. The idea of what love is and how it’s expressed and all these different atmospheres.”

Wovenhand To Support Chelsea Wolfe On US Tour

Wovenhand will join Chelsea Wolfe’s upcoming tour as the special guest and direct support. The five-week tour will follow a slew of European dates this summer. Earlier this year Wovenhand was a headliner at Roadburn Festival and has booked appearances at the sold-out Hellfest in France, Azkena Rock Festival in Spain, and Fjord Fest in Norway.

Wovenhand, led by vocalist lyricist David Eugene Edwards, continues to tour behind its acclaimed 2014 release Refractory Obdurate (Deathwish/Glitterhouse).
