Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has announced his next book will be Rust In Peace: The Inside Story Of The Megadeth Masterpiece (formerly “Building The Perfect Beast”), on September 8th via Hachette Books. Dave was the original lead guitarist of Metallica, and the author of The New York Times bestseller Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir. Slash of Guns N Roses has penned the forward of the book. Watch Megadeth Perform “Hanger 18” from Their Secret Show at Saint Vitus Bar in 2016


Megadeth has released a treat for fans in the form of “Hangar 18” from their pro-shot performance from their secret club show at the world-famous metal club, Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York. back in 2016. They performed as “Vic and The Rattleheads”, which the band has sometimes used the moniker for special shows! According to David Ellefson, the band had not played a show this in this small a club since the Cryptic Writings era of the band.

Megadeth Will Record 18 Songs for Their New Album


Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine has revealed that the band is in the studio and recording up to 18 songs for their highly-anticipated new album, As part of their “The Metal Tour Of The Year” streaming event hosted by SiriusXM’s Jose Mangin, Dave spoke about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2016’s “Dystopia” album. He said (see video below, transcribed by Blabbermouth.net): “Dirk [Verbeuren, drums] and David Ellefson [bass] both just finished their parts. And this was probably one of the strongest records we’ve ever had as far as duration. The other records we’ve done have all done been different lengths, and our [record] contract that we have [to deliver] for one company, it’s eight songs, for another company, it’s 11 songs, so, realistically, all we need to do is do an 11-song album and we’re done, right? That’s not the way old Uncle Dave is, though.

David Ellefson Will Release New Solo Single, “Simple Truth”, in April


Megadeth bassist David Ellefson will release “Simple Truth”, the new single from his solo band ELLEFSON, in April, with all proceeds going to Italian COVID-19 relief. The track, co-written by Ellefson and vocalist Thom Hazaert, with Italian guitarist and drummer Andy Martongelli and Paolo Caridi, will appear on the upcoming follow-up to David’s 2019 release Sleeping Giants. The album is a compilation featuring several new songs and reworkings of previous Ellefson instrumental solo material co-written and produced by Ellefson and Hazaert. Sleeping Giants was released as a companion album “soundtrack” to Ellefson’s 2019 biography More Life With Deth, also co-written with Hazaert. The group worked on the album remotely, recording tracks in Italy, London, Phoenix, and Wisconsin during the quarantine.Continue reading
