Brutal Assault Announces Dark Funeral, Asphyx, Myrkur, Evoken and More For 2020 Festival

Brutal Assault came to a close last night and has already announced the first bands for their 2020 festival which will be their 25th Anniversary! The fest handed out flyers with their first announcements of Dark Funeral, Asphyx, Myrkur, Evoken, Razor, Manes, Nocturnis AD, Hentai Corporation as the first bands on the bill with many more to come. Lord Ahriman Of Dark Funeral Talks Black Metal History With Ghost Cult

This past spring Dark Funeral played a string of sold-out shows in America for their first time in a few years. Joined on the trek with Septicflesh and Thy Antichrist, by all reports the shows were pure chaos. The band was supporting their latest album Where Shadows Forever Reign (Century Media), and both the 25-year anniversary and the 20-year anniversary of their second full-length album Vobiscum Satanas. Ghost Cult caught up with leader Lord Ahriman at The Gramercy Theater to talk about the new music, the history of the band, black metal controversies, Inferno Festival, and the upcoming Lords of Chaos movie. Each year at Easter, when the western and Christian world celebrates the rebirth of Jesus over the dates of an ancient fertility festival, in Norway’s capital the mandatory days off are used by the metal community to celebrate a darker get together: Inferno Metalfest. The spring festival season kicks off in earnest this weekend in Oslo, Norway with the amazingly kvlt experience that is Inferno Metal Festival. The four-day festival of extreme music and culture takes over one of the birthplace cities of heavy music in the world. The fest is sold out once again, adding to the excitement.
