Danzig has announced a series of tour dates for Europe this summer, including some festivals. The tour kicks off at the Fezen festival in Hungary and will include an appearance at Germany’s M’era Luna festival. There will also be headlining shows in Norway, Denmark and Switzerland. Danzig is set to perform an exclusive 30 Years of Danzing II: Lucifuge set at Psycho Las Vegas in August. As previously reported, Glenn Danzig’s long-awaited collection of Elvis Presley covers, appropriately titled Danzig Sings Elvis, is scheduled for an April 17 release. Tracks set to appear on the effort include “Is It So Strange”, “Loving Arms” and “One Night”. Two live shows in support of “Danzig Sings Elvis” will be announced later this month for Los Angeles and San Francisco. Set to take place in late April, these will be small, intimate seated performances as Glenn wants to try to capture an old Las Vegas night club atmosphere. In an interview in 2019, Prong’s Tommy Victor, the guitarist for Danzig, told us that 2020 was going to be “busy” with Danzig tour dates.
Psycho Las Vegas is returning for another round in the desert of Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay this summer on August 14th to 16th. Sad news on the Festival and Convention front as the long-running Rock and Shock Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts has disbanded after 15 years. The announcement was made in a post to social media about the festival canceling all further festivals. The fest paired the best Horror convention and concert series in the USA and made use of both the famous Worcester Palladium venue and the convention center at the DCU Center up the block. Danzig, often very low-key on social media, has updated the fans on the 2020 plans for the band. The post to Facebook filled in some details we previously broke the news about concerning the Verotika Blu-ray and Soundtrack release next month. The post promised the long-in the works Danzig sings Elvis Presley covers album that Jerry Cantrell worked on with the singer. “A few intimate” shows are said to be planned for that release. Danzig has hinted at more solo touring as he ramps up his film projects and winds down his work with the Original Misfits. Also, 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of Danzig II Lucifuge, and we heard in our recent interview with Tommy Victor (Prong) that he was expecting to be on the road with that tour this year and that activity might impact Prong. Following our report about Glenn Danzig’s brand new movie coming soon, his debut movie Verotika an adaptation of the singer’s comic books will be hitting 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD on February 25, according to Bloody Disgusting.com. Verotkia.world premiered at Cinepocalypse last year and became something of an instant cult classic, with BD’s review calling it “the horror equivalent of The Room” in their review. Glenn Danzig’s next film, the follow-up to his current film Verotika is titled – Death Rider in the House of Vampires, according to the film’s brand new official entry on IMDB, now live on the site. Written and directed by Danzig, with Glenn listed as the Executive Producer along with James Cullen Bresack. The cinematography is also by Danzig and Pedja Radenkovic. The film stars Devon Sawa, Danny Trejo, Julian Sands, Kim Director and Danzig himself among others. The full cast list so far can be seen below. While Glenn Danzig was performing with the Original Misfits this past fall he also showed his current film, Verotika in each city. The Original Misfits (Danzig, Jerry Only, Doyle, Dave Lombardo, Acey Slade) played last night in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s Wells Fargo Arena for what might be the final time, following the show earlier this fall at Madison Square Garden in New York, that Glenn Danzig had said would be the very last. Direct support came in the form of Dropkick Murphys and Agnostic Front. In spite of the bands; notorious cell phone policy, watch fan-filmed video from the show and check out the setlist.
The Original Misfits have officially announced their next reunion show, 12.14.19 at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia. direct support will come from Dropkick Murphys and Agnostic Front. Time will tell if this is the final show for the band or not. Tickets on sale Friday (10/25) at 10 am, but Fiend PRE-SALE starts tomorrow (Wed 10/23) at 10 am EST.
American Satan, the 2017 movie Directed by Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen will see a television sequel Paradise City soon. The film starred and featured music from many Sumerian cornerstone artists with a score co-written by Jonathan Davis of Korn.
