REVIEWS ROUND-UP: ft – Haystack – Rough Justice – Crawling Through Tartarus – Dwarrowdelf


When Entombed followed Uffe Cederlund’s vision and produced the divisive Same Difference in 1998, the direction and sound that incorporated a hefty dose of Unsane and Cederlund’s other project, Haystack, was quickly parked following an overwhelmingly negative response -it’s genuinely not a bad record at all, with hindsight – Senior Ed], and the Stockholm massive returned to their HM-2 Death n’ Roll stylings.

Haystack, too, fell by the wayside for over two decades, too. The resurrection continues, though, with second album since their return, and fourth overall, Doomsday Goes Away (The Dogma Repertory Institute/Threeman Recordings).

A GoFundMe Has Been Launched for The Vocalist of Crawling Through Tartarus, Injured in a Shooting at a Metal Show


In a story we are following up on, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched for Matt Holzboog of Crawling Through Tartarus. The Death Metal vocalist and family man was seriously injured when a shootout broke out at his bands’ show April 23rd, 2022, outside of The Marquis Lounge, in San Bernardino, California. One person wqas killed and three others besides Matt were hurt. Matt suffered a shattered fibia and tibia bone, and a main artery was hit as well. After two surgeries and almost a month in the hospital, he came home to his family on May 18th. Matt has not only suffered from being shot, but he faces medical bills and loss of wages for his wife who took unpaid leave to help care for him when he came home. Please help Matt and his family with anything you can spare.

A Shootout at a Death Metal Show in California Leaves One Person Dead, Four Others Injured


According to NBC Los Angeles and a published report by Blabbermouth.net, one person was killed and four others were injured in a shooting late Saturday night (April 23rd, 2022) during a death metal concert at a bar in San Bernardino, California The shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday outside of the Marquis Lounge, reportedly while Los Angeles death metal band Crawling Through Tartarus was on stage during their set. CBS Los Angeles reported that 32-year-old James Vincent Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene. The band’s vocalist Matt Holzboog was allegedly “hit by two rounds” and subsequently underwent surgery. He is scheduled for more surgery and expected to recover. Police said all other four victims were listed in stable condition on Monday. The investigation into the shooting remains under investigation, and no suspect or motive information was available.
