Decapitated – Devilment – Acid Reign at HRH Metal, O2 Academy Birmingham (UK)

Spread across the three adjoining Academy venues in deepest, darkest Birmingham, the third annual HRH Metal indoor fest is well into its second day when I finally arrive (a long story involving illness and unforeseen hospitals), and gathering pace on the main stage with Nottingham stoner trio Witch Tripper. The band’s beer-fuelled, Black Sabbath inspired riffery capturing the attention of a respectably sized early evening audience.

Rockharz Open Air has added a flurry of new bands for this July’s festival! Soilwork, Omnium Gatherum, Grave, Lordi, Visions Of Atlantis, Burning Witches, Combichrist, Elvellon, Hell Boulevard, J.B.O., Lacrimas Profundere, and Witt have joined the event. Incite’s new album is out this week and Swallow The Sun’s new album is out in two weeks. Cradle of Filth To Record New Album In 2019

Cradle of Filth has announced in a lengthy Facebook post that they are likely entering the studio later this year to release a new album in 2020. The new album will be the follow-up to 2017s Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay, released via Nuclear Blast and was recorded at Grindstone Studios, Suffolk, U.K. by their longtime collaborator Scott Atkins.
