The new album will be their first in 9 years, the follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By and was once again produced by Bob Rock, who also worked on the band’s last two LPs. Victory Records Acquired by Concord Music


According to a published report from Billboard, Concord, the purveyor and manager of indie music labels across a spectrum of genres has acquired Victory Records, the long-running Chicago-based punk and emo label founded by Tony Brummel in 1989. As part of the deal, Concord has also acquired Brummel’s Another Victory Publishing catalog. The acquisition includes approximately 4,500 master recordings and 3,500 compositions. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but Billboard estimates Concord paid somewhere in the range of $27 million-$34 million for the Victory company. Victory also owns its own merchandising arm and warehouse, but no word yet on whether the deal covers those assets too. Continue reading

Heart’s forthcoming new album of re-imagined versions of older material Beautiful Broken is due out July 8th. The album features Metallica’s James Hetfield backing up Ann Wilson on the song ‘Fanatic’. The teaser for the album is available at this link or below.

 

Heart’s Nancy Wilcson comments on the new album:

“There is really a seventies feel to this record both in the sound, and the way we got to the emotional core of each song. We picked songs that we always wanted to re-do, plus we’ve added three new tracks. On both new and old, we have the band playing together the way we used to. This is classic HEART.”

Finger Eleven To Release New Album, Video Premiere Today

Veteran Canadian hard rock act Finger Eleven will release a new album this summer, titled Five Crooked Lines via The Bicycle Music Company/Concord Music. The first single from the album, ‘Wolves and Doors’ including a music video which premiered today. Watch the video below:

The JUNO award-winning band (2007) crafted their new record in Nashville with Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell). Singer Scott Anderson explains the meaning behind the title of the album:

For me it’s symbolic of fortune and luck and how fragile those things are… In one instance you’ve got five crooked lines, which in one position is just a heap of bent sticks. But in the right way, they make a star, which is the most glorious shape there is.”

Finger Eleven has an extensive tour booked, including a string of dates with fellow countrymen Three Days Grace.
