There are very few bands that seem to fly under the radar but yet are insanely popular. Combichrist is one such band. Mention the band name Combichrist to a self-proclaimed music buff, and you may or may not get acknowledgment that the person has heard of the band. Now, play a song by Combichrist to the same person, and that person will respond favorably, most likely saying something like “I fucking love this band!” Honestly, how can you not love a band that is absolutely fearless when it comes to penning lyrics. Frankly, Andy LaPlegua, the band’s founder and songwriting mastermind, is my spirit animal. Throughout his career, LaPlegua has always expressed exactly what he is thinking using his full throttle in your face style of Industrial Metal. Brutal Assault 2019 has added another bunch of bands for the next edition of the festival! New bands added include Parkway Drive, Azusa, Nordjevel, Combichrist, Caspian, Violent Magic Orchestra, Caspian, Déluge, Frog Leap, and Hexis. the bill with more to come. One-hundred and thirty bands will play in the ancient and legendary Josefov Fortress castle on four stages all weekend from 7 -10 August 2019. Rockharz Open Air has added a flurry of new bands for this July’s festival! In a post to Facebook, drummer Joe Letz has announced that he has stepped down from Atlanta based Industrial Metal band Combichrist. Since 2008, Joe has been the longest-serving member of the band, aside from founder and frontman Andy LaPleagua. Joe plays in Aesthetic Perfection and has also played in Amen, Wednesday 13, Genitourturers, Hansel Und Gretyl, Emigrate and more. We wish Joe the best and look forward to supporting any of his endeavors.
