AC/DC Announces Their Long-Awaited Power Up 2024 World Tour, Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette) to Replace Cliff Williams on Bass

AC/DC has finally announced their long awaited “Power Up” tour! The European tour will begin May 17th in Germany. More dates for the rest of the world are expected to be announced in time. Joining the core of the band co-founder guitarist Angus Young, singer Brian Johnson, guitarist Stevie Young, and drummer Matt Laug (ex Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper, Slash’s Snake Pit) and Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette, Camp Freddy). The band last played at October’s PowerTrip Festival in Indio, California. It was their first show with Brian Johnson since 2016, now that he is recovered from his severe hearing loss issues. The band commented: “We are thrilled to finally announce the ‘Power Up’ European Tour. Angus, Brian, Stevie, and Matt will be joined by Chris Chaney to carry the torch for Cliff. “The tour will see us play shows across Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France & Ireland this Summer. Foo Fighters Announce First Wave of Special Guests for The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles

The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will benefit charities in both the UK and the US and was chosen by the Hawkins family. Beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly. Performing alongside The Foo Fighters, the first guest artists for Los Angeles announced are Chris Chaney, Stewart Copeland, Miley Cyrus, Omar Hakim, Joshua Homme, Joan Jett, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Mark Ronson, Alanis Morissette, Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx, Chad Smith, Luke Spiller, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Jon Theodore, Wolfgang Van Halen, Brad Wilk, Pat Wilson, and a special appearance by Chevy Metal. More artists and guests will be announced. The Los Angeles concert takes place on Tuesday, Sept 27th, 2022 at The Kia Forum. The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will benefit charities in both the UK and the US and was chosen by the Hawkins family. Beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly. Performing alongside The Foo Fighters, the first guest artists announced for the London show are Chris Chaney, Stewart Copeland, Liam Gallagher, Omar Hakim, Joshua Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Mark Ronson, Supergrass, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, Chevy Metal, plus a special appearance by Dave Chappelle. More artists and guests will be announced. The London concert takes place on Saturday, Sept 3rd, 2022 at Wembley Stadium. You can sign up for a pre-0sale code at the Foo Fighters website. Alice In Chains is being honored by Seattle’s MoPop Museum of Pop Culture on December 1st, and the band will be celebrated by a cadre of their peers, as well as hold their first performance of 2020. Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana are among the artists who will take part in virtual tribute performances when AIC is presented with this year’s Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Founders Award. Watch Jane’s Addiction Reunite for Lollapalooza – Lolla2020 Livestream

Jane’s Addiction reunited to perform two songs during Lollapalooza’s Lolla2020 livestream, a free four-night broadcast event taking place on the original dates of the Chicago-based festival. Singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Chris Chaney reunited for their first public appearance in three years to perform “I Would For You” and “Stop!” The band formed in Los Angeles 35 years ago and helped put Alternative rock on the map with their string of hit albums and Farrell founding Lollapalooza in 1991. Jane’s Addiction released its last album, The Great Escape Artist, back in 2011.
