As previously reported, Chester Bennington’s pre-Linkin Park band Grey Daze will release their tribute album, with Chester’s vocals on it in 2020. Among the guest musicians set to appear on the recordings are Chester’s 23-year-old son Jaime Bennington, KORN’s Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer, P.O.D.’s Marcos Curiel, BUSH’s Chris Traynor, Ryan Shuck, Chester’s bandmate in DEAD BY SUNRISE. The resulting album will be released via Loma Vista Recordings. The first single from the upcoming tribute album, a track called “What’s In The Eye”, has just been released, accompanied by a Zev Deans-directed video featuring old footage of Chester. Chester Bennington’s Original Band Grey Daze to Release Re-Recorded Debut


Late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington’s first band, Phoenix-based Grey Daze have re-recorded their old material with the help of Chester’s friends and family. Among the guest musicians set to appear on the recordings are Chester’s 23-year-old son Jaime Bennington, Korn’s Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer, P.O.D.’s Marcos Curiel, Bush guitarist’s Chris Traynor, as well as Ryan Shuck, Chester’s bandmate in Dead By Sunrise. The resulting album will be released via 320 Changes Direction, the mental health awareness organization launched by Chester’s widow Talinda Bennington.Continue reading


Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) Releases Video for “Fine”


Iconic Linkin Park co-frontman Mike Shinoda has shared a new official music video for his new single, ‘Fine’. The song is featured on the soundtrack of the film The Blackout, released across Russia on November 21 and in Germany, Austria, and the Baltic States on November 28. Shinoda announced the track release on social media, sharing some of the song’s lyrics on Instagram: “Tell all the children to lock those doors‬ / ‪I’ve seen the smoke in the sky before‬ / ‪Gotta be up on my feet‬ / ‪When the morning comes‬ ‪/ ‘Cause this fight you can’t ignore‬ / Everything is gonna be fine.‬” Mike’s full-length solo album called Post Traumatic dropped in 2018 and was inspired in part by the death of LP singer Chester Bennington in 2017. Two Years Gone: Chester Bennington (1976 – 2017)


Collectively, the world still has a giant heart sized hole in it from the tragic loss of the life and gifts of Chester Charles Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park who committed suicide at age 41, on this day 2017. Said to be despondent over the death of his best friend Chris Cornell from suicide, just a few months earlier, Chester could not escape his own darkness. The voice of his generation, music fans who grew up with LP continue to carry his memory and music daily. LP and Chester’s widow Talinda continue his passion for good works with the One More Light Foundation charity. Mark Morton – Anesthetic


Solo projects are notoriously difficult. Sometimes they are born of internal conflict within a band leading to splintering factions looking to pave their own way. More often than not it proves that a part is not greater than the sum of the whole: who can honestly say they prefer Serj Tankian’s solo work to the output of System of a Down? They can also be the result of an ego attack, a misplaced sense of superiority with often disastrous results. Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton, however, seems to fall into neither category, so his debut solo release, Anesthetic (WPP/Spinefarm Records) can only be viewed as a long-awaited labour of love.Continue reading


Mike Shinoda Says Linkin Park is Not Actively Looking For a Lead Singer


Contradicting a previous report, Mike Shinoda clarified a previous statement and says Linkin Park is not seeking a replacement for Chester Bennington at this time. Bennington died in 2017. He tweeted “Lemme clarify a rumor: we are not looking for a new singer, and if it were to happen organically, I’d be open. Seems pretty clear, yet I guess some folks have a hard time understanding.

“I’m not into predicting the future. The future will happen.

“Stop making shit up.”

Chester Bennington’s Life To Be Celebrated with Photo Exhibit Next Month


Late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington would have celebrated his 43rd birthday on March 20th. On that day his life will be honored with a special photo exhibit on March 20. Celebrating The Life Of Chester Bennington: A Photo Exhibit By Jim Louvau takes place at The Black Sheep Gallery in Burbank, CA featuring never-before-seen photos captured by Chester’s close friend and artist Jim Louvau. The event will take place from 7:00 – 10:00 PM following a private VIP reception for family and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A limited amount of tickets for the event are on sale now for $25, with a portion of proceeds being donated to his widow, Talinda Bennington’s charity for suicide prevention, 320 Changes Direction. The music world was rocked last summer when Chester Charles Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park committed suicide at age 41. For a generation of music fans, Chester was their voice and represented them. In the wake of his passing remaining members of the band put on a live tribute concert to him raising money for suicide awareness, and supported the One More Light Foundation. Formed by his second wife, Talinda who has become a mental health advocate and activist. Countless musical tributes were shared by peers and fans in the last year.
