Metallica ’s All Within My Hands to Make Another Round of COVID-19 Relief Grants


Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation will provide a second round of new grants totaling $295,000 to five organizations doing essential work during the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to continuing to support Feeding America, which partners with food banks around the United States; Crew Nation, Live Nation’s initiative to provide relief to touring and venue crews; the United States Bartenders Guild Foundation, which benefits bar workers and people in the service industries; and Direct Relief, which aims to support medical professionals and first responders across the U.S.; the band has announced a fifth grantee as its partners with MusicCares in the organization’s efforts to assist music industry professionals affected by the pandemic.Continue reading

Metallica Launches “Metallica Scholars” – A Million Dollar Workforce Education Initiative For Students


Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation (AWMH) has launched a major workforce education initiative that provides direct support to community colleges to enhance their career and technical education programs. The band will donate One Million dollars USD to ten community colleges across the country supporting 1,000 students training to enter the American workforce. Metal Legend Mike Dean Donates Bass To Cancer Charity Fundraiser


Cancer is a sonofabitch and there will be more than 1.7 million new cases of it in 2018 alone. One person making the best of a bad situation is Melissa S. who uses her multiple diagnosis of cancer to raise money on her own raise awareness and money for animal rescue, Friends of Melissa have been raising money on both BiddingOwl and GoFundMe to raise the $20,000 USD she needs for aggressive treatment for her long-term survival. Now her friend, metal legend Mike Dean of Corrosion of Conformity has joined the fight, donating a classic bass from his aresenal to the auction to give it a boost. Mike’s NYC Sadowsky Sunburst Vintage J 4 Bass Guitar has been played live with played in over 2,000 shows with COC and Kyuss Lives and the COC albums America’s Volume Dealer, Live Volume album and concert video, In the Arms of God, and Corrosion of Conformity. Trans-Siberian Orchestra Announces Their Winter Tour Dates


2018 marks the 20th anniversary of Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), and thus a celebration is in order. The band has announced their Winter Tour 2018 Tour, their annual November-December trek. This season brings a presentation of TSO’s unforgettable “The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve”, featuring late founder/composer/lyricist Paul O’Neill‘s timeless story of a runaway who finds her way into a mysterious abandoned theater, is set to begin on November 14 and will visit 65 cities across North America, for 100-plus performances, before concluding on December 30 (see full itinerary below). Dropdead Vocalist Bob Otis Injured In Motorcycle Crash, GofundMe Launched By Friends


Dropdead frontman Bob Otis was injured in a motorcycle crash on July 18th where he skidded out on his bike in Providence, RI and rolled 25ft. Although he was wearing his helmet, he broke six ribs and suffered other injuries. Bob has a history of back and other medical problems, and this latest injury just compounds things for him physically and financially. His friends have launched a Gofundme for Bob to help with the medical bills. Metallica, which launched their charitable foundation All Within My Hands this year, held their first “Day of Service” on Mat 23rd and it was rousing success. The band themselves got hands on as drummer Lars Ulrich presented the SF-Marin Food Bank with a check for $5,000 on Wednesday.
