The popular Bourbon & Beyond Festival was forced to cancel day two of the festival headlined by Sting and Robert Plant among others due to terrible weather that affected the fairgrounds, in an effort to keep fans and artists safe. Held at Champions Park in Louisville, KY, also the home of next weekend’s massive Louder Than Life fest, which at this point is not in danger of interruption or cancellation right now. The fest had no choice, but to do this and considering the disappointment of ffans, they have done a great job offering refunds or partial refunds whenever possbile. The festival made a post to their social media and also informed ticket goers about refunds via email. This was on the heels of the announcement that the fest is expanding in 2019 to be even bigger. Louder Than Life, brought to you by Danny Wimmer Presents is the second biggest American rock and metal festival is returning to Champions Park in Louisville Kentucky this fall. The fest is growing to three days and will take place on September 28, 29 & 30, 2018. Louisville Kentucky’s top flight metal and hard rock festival, the 3rd annual Louder Than Life festival has announced its 2016 lineup. Avenged Sevenfold will headline, with Slipknot, Slayer, Disturbed, Korn and The Cult performing among others on October 1st and 2nd.
Tickets go on sale this Wednesday at noon EST at www.LouderThanLifeFestival.com. Prices will be $79.50 for a single-day general admission, $89.50 for a general admission weekend pass, and $234.50 for a VIP weekend pass. Other packages are available, with prices increases soon.
Other bands performing at Champions Park on River Road are Ghost, Cheap Trick, The Pretty Reckless, Alter Bridge, Pierce the Veil, Clutch, Anthrax, Hellyeah, Sevendust, Trivium and Sick Puppies. More than 50,000 fans attended last year’s sold-out festival, most from out of state.
With the Louisville locale in the forefront, the festival also features on bourbon and “gourmet man food”.
Celebrity chefs will be Edward Lee, Tom Coghill, Bill Kunz and Jonathan Schwartz, while the Gourmet Man Food Village will have several dozen choices, including Doc Crow’s, El Luchador,: 502 Café, Aporkalypse Now, Hi-Five Doughnuts, Holy Mole, The Comfy Cow, Gelato Gilberto and Cheese Louise.
Bourbon World, presented by the Louisville Courier-Journal, will feature Angel’s Envy, Basil Hayden’s, Benchmark, Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Eagle Rare, Evan Williams, Four Roses, Jim Beam, Knob Creek, Maker’s Mark, Michter’s, Old Forester, Town Branch, Willett, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve.

The first annual Louder Than Life Festival was held October 4-5, 2014 with 36,826 in attendance at Champions Park near downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The festival celebrated Louisville’s culture and cuisine, with a selection of rock music, bourbon, whiskey, craft beer and “gourmet man food” curated personally by Danny Wimmer.
The inaugural festival featured performances from more than 30 of the biggest bands in hard rock and metal–including Kid Rock, Judas Priest, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Limp Bizkit, Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, Volbeat, Papa Roach and more–playing on three stages, plus celebrity chef appearances by Chris Santos, Bill Kunz, and Tom Coghill on the Jägermeister Cooking Stage. More than 70 food and beverage vendors were on hand to help celebrate the bourbon culture and culinary heritage of this unique American city.
