At seventy-three years old, Ozzy Osbourne has virtually nothing left to accomplish and even less to prove. TV personality, singer/songwriter, occasional actor and co-founder of an entire genre of music, if there’s anyone in the world of hard rock and metal who deserves to put their feet up with a pair of comfy slippers and a hot cup of cocoa then it’s the lovable Brummie seemingly incapable of using a television remote control.

Foo Fighters Announce First Wave of Special Guests for The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles


The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will benefit charities in both the UK and the US and was chosen by the Hawkins family. Beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly. Performing alongside The Foo Fighters, the first guest artists for Los Angeles announced are Chris Chaney, Stewart Copeland, Miley Cyrus, Omar Hakim, Joshua Homme, Joan Jett, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Mark Ronson, Alanis Morissette, Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx, Chad Smith, Luke Spiller, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Jon Theodore, Wolfgang Van Halen, Brad Wilk, Pat Wilson, and a special appearance by Chevy Metal. Metallica performed its classic song “Nothing Else Matters” with pop star Miley Cyrus on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” yesterday morning (Thursday, September 9). You can watch video of the performance below. Miley’s appearance was in celebration of release of the remastered deluxe box set of Metallica’s self-titled fifth album and also features Elton John, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, frequent collaborator Andrew Watt and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. Appearing via video link, Elton told Howard his decision to play piano on the star-studded cover was an absolute “no-brainer.” “This is one of the best songs ever written, to me. It’s a song that never gets old. Playing on this track I just couldn’t wait because the chord structure, the melodies, the time changes — it’s got drama written all over it,” he said. Ozzy Osbourne’s “Ordinary Man” Album Lands on Billboard’s “Top 50 Albums of 2020 So Far” List


Even though pop culture and most of the music industry doesn’t care about rock or metal, mainstream critics sometimes surprise you. Ozzy Osbourne’s comeback album, Ordinary Man, (Epic Records, review here:) has been named to Billboard Magazine’s Top 50 Albums of 2020 So Far list from their staff. Extra special in that accolade is that Ozzy has one of only two Rock albums in the list of mainly Pop, Rap, and Dance music albums; the other being by The Strokes. Ordinary Man was produced and written by Andrew Watt, with other writers and performers such as Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses on bass, with Sir Elton John on vocals and piano, Slash on lead guitar, Tom Morello (RATM) on guitar and Post Malone!
