A rapidly growing name in the death metal underground, Italian label Everlasting Spew focus on old school, brutal, dissonant and doom death – placing them so firmly within Richard Benton’s circle of interest that he wonders if they escaped from his head. What shines through their roster and gives them a higher than average hit-rate is their obvious love of and devotion to death metal, with social media posts revealing the label’s owners as excitable fans of the genre themselves. It had been coming for a while… the underground has been festering and bubbling under for the last few years. A new breed of leaders, including Blood Incantation (who have definitely already influenced many of their peers), Tomb Mold, Gatecreeper, Necrot and Undeath, among others, have taken on the mantle from the old titans; the lava has been flowing molten and in 2021 the subterranean erupted. Los Angeles grindcore/hardcore band Trappist have booked their first East Coast tour dates. The band which counts members of the bands Spazz, Infest, Despise You, -16-, Crom and will be supporting their debut album, Ancient Brewing Tactics, which saw released through Relapse Records. The shows see the band in Brooklyn, New York on November 16th, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on the 17th, and Washington, DC on November 18th. These shows are taking place at beer-based events and at breweries. The Brooklyn show at Saint Vitus Bar is The Six Most Metal Breweries presents No Corporate Beer NYC, which includes a solo doom set by Todd Haug, a 6MMB pilot screening, and a set by Trappist, with unlimited pours from 6-8pm by KCBC, Barrier, Transmitter, Bridge and Tunnel, Trappist x Wayfinder collaboration Steinbier poured by the band, and a cash bar featuring Burial, Trve, and the first keg of 3 Floyds Zombie Dust ever distributed to NYC!
