ALBUM REVIEW: Mammoth WVH – Mammoth II


 

In October 2020 the world lost a true musical legend when iconic guitar icon Eddie Van Halen passed away, signalling the end of one of the all-time classic American Hard Rock bands. In the aftermath his son Wolfgang Van Halen, himself a touring bass player for his father’s band since the tender age of 15, released his first solo album as Mammoth WVH. The record was in many ways a heartfelt tribute to his father as highlighted on the songs ‘Distance’ and ‘Mr Ed,’ and had been in the works since Wolfgang had started recording in Eddie’s legendary 5150 studio way back in 2015.

Corey Taylor to Release a New Solo Single and Video Next Week – “Beyond,” Shares Behind The Scenes Video


Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor recently announced his signing to BMG music with his own imprint Decibel Cooper and his forthcoming second full-length studio solo album – CMFT2. He has shared behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot for the track “Beyond” which you can see below. The track “Beyond” is due out next week on May 16th and it is not entirely new, but a reworking of a previous song performed by Taylor with his Corey Tayor & The Junk Beer Kidnap Band in 2009 on tour, but never officially released. Watch the behind the scenes footage from the video shoot now and check out the new live version of the song before it releases to streaming.

Pixies Share a New Single – “Dregs Of The Wine”


Alternative rock innovators Pixies have returned with a new single “Dregs of Wine,” another new single from their upcoming new album Doggerel, due out on September 30th, 2022, via BMG. The track is the next single following the recent single and video “Vault of Heaven!” The band has been playing a series of acclaimed show of late, and have booked a long string of world tour dates, including a brief run of shows in the USA.
