Getting fully back into concert mode has been fun, but also scary on some levels as a fan. I need live music in my life, bad, but I am nervous around small clubs and tons of people right now, since the pandemic is still a thing. Nevertheless, I got the opportunity to cover legends like Black Label Society, Obituary, and Prong all at the same show, no less, and so I had to handle my emotions and nerves (I have pretty bad anxiety on the reg) and trooped out to Sacramento’s respected Ace of Spades club.
Armored Saint will embark on a West Coast tour with headliners Black Label Society and Prong this winter. Armored Saint released their eighth full-length, Punching The Sky, via Metal Blade Records, last year and the band is pumped to finally tour behind the album.
“Black Label Society is up to something,” says the ominous message across BLS’s social media. The band has shared a new trailer teasing something in the works from Zakk Wylde’s primary gig outside of Zakk Sabbath, future live gigs with Ozzy, and his solo work, with the reveal on April 21st, 2021. The teaser features the song “Suicide Messiah” from 2005’s Mafia album. The last BLS album released has Grimmest Hits and Zakk released a solo album Book of Shadows II (eOne Music) and a Black Sabbath tribute record with Zakk Sabbath, the Billboard-charting Vertigo via Magnetic Eye Records.
Good news as Black Label Society has announced rescheduled dates with Obituary and Lord Dying for this summer. The tour had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. The brotherhood of the Almighty Black Label Society brought its POWAH and PAIN to the Chicago chapter in the Grimmest of ways on January 3rd 2018. Loud and Proud is how Zakk Wylde does it to kick off the New Year on an ice-filled, frozen city kind of evening. With Zakk embarking tours supporting Book of Shadows II (eOne), Zakk Sabbath, and of course performing with Ozzy it’s been over 2 years since BLS has taken the Blessed Hellride. The family of the House of Blues Chicago BLS DOOM crew came out in droves and packed the hall to the limit on a sub-zero night in Chicago. The house wasn’t heating up inside, it was burning up!
