FESTIVAL REVIEW: Exit 111 Festival 2019 – Manchester, Tennessee

Exit 111 Festival, aptly named for the highway exit in Manchester TN, made its début October 11-13, 2019. Arriving in powers of three, it was three days of riffs, rock, and rowdiness. One part Metal, one part Rock, one Southern rock, and a whole lot of nostalgia, the event hosted three stages: the Rise Above Stage (honored suicide awareness and featured many of the Classic rock/Southern rock acts), Heaven Stage (the main stage and home to the headliners), and Hell Stage (spotlighted mainly heavy artists). FESTIVAL REVIEW: ROCKLAHOMA 2019

Rocklahoma 2019. Three days in the sun, dust, and more sun over Memorial Day weekend (four days technically if you count the Thursday night pre-party). This was the 12 year of this annual festival and it was set to be one for the books from the get-go. Getting to this massive party was no small task on my part. Driving from New Hampshire to Oklahoma isn’t exactly a relaxing Sunday drive. Two full days of driving, two full-on tornadoes, and 1,700 miles later, I had arrived at my Air BnB in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Roughly 50 minutes outside of Pryor. Continue reading

Bourbon And Beyond Forced To Cancel Day Two Of Fest Due To Rain

The popular Bourbon & Beyond Festival was forced to cancel day two of the festival headlined by Sting and Robert Plant among others due to terrible weather that affected the fairgrounds, in an effort to keep fans and artists safe. Held at Champions Park in Louisville, KY, also the home of next weekend’s massive Louder Than Life fest, which at this point is not in danger of interruption or cancellation right now. The fest had no choice, but to do this and considering the disappointment of ffans, they have done a great job offering refunds or partial refunds whenever possbile. The festival made a post to their social media and also informed ticket goers about refunds via email. This was on the heels of the announcement that the fest is expanding in 2019 to be even bigger. Adam Thistlethwaite of Massive Wagons Talks Authenticity, New Album “Full Nelson”

August 2018 saw the lives and times of UK bluesy rockers Massive Wagons change, perhaps irreversibly, as hot on the heels of a headline performance at SOS Festival that impressed punters and Ghost Cult alike, their fourth album Full Nelson not only hit the racks, but mounted a serious, and unexpected for the band, assault on the UK album charts, achieving a truly impressive week one position of #16.

With the band experiencing a step up in profile in the run-up to release, guitarist and founding member Adam Thistlethwaite took time out to shoot the breeze with Steve Tovey. Continue reading
