Batushka (Derph Version) Releases A New Song – “Batushka – Pecn’ 1”

If you have been following the Batushka drama in new first broken internationally by Ghost Cult, the band is now in two warring factions. One formed by founder  Krzysztof “Derph” Drabikowski and another by former/current frontman Bartłomiej Krysiuk (Bartek) or Bart’s Batushka, Baotoushka or БАТЮШКА also exits, with each claiming to be “the true Batoushka. It’s really confusing if you are keeping score at home.  The Derph version of Batushka, still in control of the official YouTube, dropped an incredible new track, “Батюшка – Песнь 1 ( Batushka – Pecn’ 1)”, under his Spheriatz moniker. There is no way to know if this is a finished track or not, but one thing is for sure; it is incredible and raw track! Batushka Breaks Their Silence, New Album Coming Soon

Polish Black Metal act Batushka has reemerged following an apparent split from their previous frontman Mr. Draibkowski. As we previously broke the news that each faction of the band has claimed to be the true Batushka, but the group without Mr. Draibkowski has apparently finished a new album and claims to have signed to Metal Blade Records (as of press time this is unconfirmed). Read the statement below and we will hopefully have an official announcement soon, further clarifying these statements. The band has a huge European tour booked for this summer, so presumably, we’ll find out more by then, perhaps with new music.  Continue reading

Batushka Lineup Fractures, Future Of The Band Is Uncertain

In some baffling news to start the year, it appears that members of rising kvlt Extreme Metal band Batushka have attempted to fire each other, casting a cloud over their immediate future. In late December 2018, multi-instrumentalist and founder Христофор made an official Instagram post claiming that vocalist Варфоломей was out of the band. Not long after, Варфоломей made an official Facebook post claiming that Христофор was out of the band. Now it appears that the faction with Христофор has filed for a trademark for the band, hired new members to make a new album, and  seized control of most of social media channels of the band. Headlined by Napalm Death, Ihsahn (exclusive UK appearance), Entombed A.D., Vader, Annal Nathrakh and also featuring Batoushka, The Ocean, Ne Obliviscaris, Celeste, Rosetta and more.
