The Rage Against the Machine Reunion Effectively Ends Prophets of Rage

With the news of the reunion of Rage Against the Machine, Prophets of Rage’s chapter as a band carrying on that legacy is now over. That supergroup included Tom Morello (guitar), Brad Wilk (drums) and Tim Commerford of RATM along with HipHop legends Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill. Just after the RATM reunion was announced for a series of shows in 2020, including an appearance at next year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Chuck and B-Real each posted to social media confirming their band is done.

Once in a while, the art that society needs to help it pull through collective dark times comes along right at the precise time. In another life, that album would have been a new album from a reunited Rage Against The Machine, the legendary rap-rock band. However, what we’ve got instead is the début full-length album from Prophets of Rage, the supergroup with members of Rage, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill added in for good measure. After an EP and a slew of singles telegraphing the powder keg of potential greatness to come had dropped, the full meal real deal thing is here. Forget about the quarter of the album already released, and the hype train pulling into the station. Prophets Of Rage To Play Surprise Show In Los Angeles Tonight

Prophets of Rage, the supergroup including ¾ of Rage Against the Machine and rappers Chuck D (Public Enemy) and B Real (Cypress Hill) will make their live debut tonight at The Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles. The concert will be a charity event with all proceeds from the evening will be donated to P.A.T.H. (People Assisting The Homeless). Tickets are on sale now and expected to sell out quickly:
