Metallica, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Judas Priest, Korn, Mercyful Fate, Opeth, Emperor, and More Booked for Copenhell 2022


Copenhell has announced its first bands for 2022 next summer and it looks like a banger. Metallica will make their debut appearance ever at the fest performing on the new fourth day, June 15th, 2022, as announced on social media by Lars Ulrich, who is from Denmark. Metallica will offer a pre-sale for tickets through their Fifth Members Fan Club. Joining the band will be Iron Maiden, Kiss, Judas Priest, Korn, D-A-D, Mercyful Fate, Emperor, Bad Religion, Opeth, The Hellacopters, Bersærk, Jinjer, Gloryhammer, Death To All, Of Mice & Men, Artillery, Dog Eat Dog, Siamese, Destruction, Orm, Redwood Hill, Ghost Iris, Withering Surface, Xenoblight, Hällas, Lok, Gatecreeper, Knocked Loose, Svartsot, Soren Andersen, Eyes, Denial Of God, Wayward Dawn, Lifesick, Nyredolk and more to be announced. The fest runs from June 15th – 19th 2022.

Artillery Guitarist and Founder Morten Stützer Dies, Age 57


In more sad news today, Artillery guitarist and co-founding member Morten Stützer has died. He was 57. The band broke the news of Morten’s passing in a Facebook post earlier today. “Dear loyal friends and fans, it is with a heavy heart, a great deal of shock and a lot of disbelief that we have inform you that founding member, friend, and brother Morten Stützer, no longer is with us. He passed away at the way-too-early age of 57 on the evening of October 2nd. He was surrounded by his family”. Stützer had been in declining health for some time and unable to tour for several years. Danish thrash metal veterans Artillery will be returning to the US this spring with Striker, VX36, Potential Threat and Dahlmers Realm as support.

Artillery formed in the Copenhagen suburb of Taastrup, Denmark in 1982 by Michael and Morten Stützer. Since then the band has gone through numerous lineup shifts and gave released six studio offerings. The first period of Artillery’s existence gave the world the three classic albums – Fear Of Tomorrow, Terror Squad and By Inheritance – featuring some of the finest moments of thrash metal Europe has ever put out.

Venom Performing On 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise

Veteran UK Metal Icons Venom have confirmed their slot on the upcoming 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, on its voyage from Florida to Jamaica in January 2015. They will play two sets on board, as one will focus on greatest hits and the other will be an Exclusive Live World Premiere of their forthcoming new album From the Very Depths.

VENOM will join the 60 band roster of 70000TONS OF METAL 2015,
including Alestorm, Amorphis, Annihilator, Apocalyptica, Arch Enemy,
Artillery, Behemoth, Blind Guardian, Cannibal Corpse, Crucified

Monday, January 26, 2015.
