Armored Saint Shares New Music Video, Announces Livestream Concert


Heavy Metal legends Armored Saint have dropped a new music single and video “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” (directed and produced by Costin Chioreanu // https://twilight13media.com/). The additional drone footage was shot by Miluta Flueras, with band performance footage by Vince Edwards. Special thanks to Dan Marinescu. The song comes from their eighth full-length album, Punching The Sky, October 23rd, via Metal Blade Records. Pre-orders and bundles are on sale now. The band also On Saturday, October 10th at 1PM PST//4PM EST//10PM CET, Armored Saint will host a live record release show online for Punching The Sky. EVENT RECAP: Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund Commemorates 10th Anniversary with Awards Gala and Concert


The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, founded in memory of the late rock music legend, commemorated the 10th anniversary of his passing and the formation of the charity with its 10th Anniversary Memorial Awards Gala held on February 20, 2020 at the Avalon Hollywood. Hosted Eddie Trunk (That Metal Show, SiriusXM Trunk Nation), the organization recognized honorees in eight categories—each named after songs written by Ronnie James Dio–who have played a role in either Dio’s legacy or that of the charity. Live entertainment was provided by Ronnie James Dio’s live band Dio, featuring vocalists Tim “Ripper” Owens and Oni Logan, and band members Simon Wright, Craig Goldy, Scott Warren and Bjorn Englen, and highlighted by the vocals and visuals of Ronnie James Dio. Los Angeles comedian Brian Posehn, in addition, his comedic duties, performed a song from his upcoming GRANDPA METAL album accompanied by Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning), while local rockers Sadie & the Tribe opened the festivities with their set. REVIEW: The MegaCruise 2019


Like most metalheads, I’ve been to a lot of metal shows over the years. Over the hundreds of metal shows I’ve attended, never once did I think to myself “You know what would make this even better? Being trapped on a boat in the middle of the fucking ocean.” And yet, having taken some time to reflect on my experiences aboard the inaugural MegaCruise by Megadeth, I revel in the memories of experiencing choppy water while thrashing through the Pacific, convinced I’m going to die on a boat watching Dragonforce and being oddly ok with it. Megadeth tribute band Mechanix will also take part in the cruise, hand-selected by Dave Mustaine himself. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth Gives Health Update, Megacruise Draws Nearer


In an email missive to fans and cruisers going on next month’s Megacruise, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine gave an update on his ongoing battle against cancer. Dave says he is almost done with his regiment of treatments and is looking forward to the cruise and doctors are feeling positive about his recovery. Dave also thanked the fans for their support during this undoubtedly trying time. Read the update from the man himself, whom we wish nothing bust the speediest and best possible recovery. Megacrusie sets sail next month on October 13th from Los Angeles aboard the Norwegian Jewel for five days and nights of metal legends. Lamb of God has been named as the final band for the inaugural Megacruise! They will join Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Queensrÿche, Suicidal Tendencies, Dragonforce, Overkill, Death Angel, Corrosion Of Conformity, Devildriver, Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons, Doro, Armored Saint, John 5, Metal Church, Danko Jones, Beasto Blanco, Metalachi, Toothgrinder, and Mechanix. Sailing out of Los Angeles October 13-18, 2019 aboard Norwegian Jewel. Limited cabins remain. The cruise will visit two ports of call (San Diego, California, and Ensenada, Mexico) as well as two days at sea filled with heavy metal music and events. The cruise will also feature an (optional) pre-cruise party on Saturday, October 12th at Avalon Hollywood (1735 Vine St.) featuring a performance from English rock band UFO as part of their farewell tour. Metal Allegiance Live At The Van Buren


Metal and rock Supergroup Metal Allegiance kicked off their 5th-anniversary tour last month with a slamming show at The Van Buren, in Phoenix Arizona. Presented by the Murder In The Front Row movie and Loudwire featured the core members – David Ellefson, Mark Menghi, Mike Portnoy, and Alex Skolnick – sharing the stage with Chuck Billy (Testament), John Bush (Armored Saint), and Phil Demmel (Machine Head). Also returning to the MA live show ranks after a three-year hiatus, vocalist/bassist Troy Sanders (Mastodon). Each night of the mini-tour offered a unique experience as with any MA gig. Tonight they were joined by local legends Max Cavalera (Soulfly), as well as members of Sacred Reich and Flotsam and Jetsam.
