Revive The Music Plans To Save Small Music Venues with Livestreams


Founded by No Limits Show host and Horns Up Rocks founder and presenter Jö Schüftan, Revive The Music is a new initiative trying to save our scene, focusing on raising funds for artists, music establishments, and production crew members affected by the pandemic. The events will be live stream concerts from bands, and run as a series of “seasons” – the debut event takes place this week with Killcode benefitting Arlene’s Grocery, on Friday, December 18th. Following the kick-off, Christmas Day brings Ferrett, benefitting Lucky 13, a New Year’s Day show with Charetta benefiting legendary venue The Bitter End, and Sworn Enemy benefiting The Kingsland on January 8thy, 2021. We recently caught up with the guys in Scottish Indie Rock band Fatherson at The New Colossus Festival during their brief US tour. Hanging out at Arlene’s Grocery in New York City, we talked to Ross Leighton (guitar/vocals) Marc Strain (bass), and Greg Walkinshaw (drums) about their 2018 album Sum of All Your Parts (Easy Life Records), their recent “reimagined” EP, playing SXSW 2019, their creative process, and their future plans for the sound of the band. Prior to the release of their Rob Farren produced (Isle of Rhodes) debut EP Citizens Rise this past July, Bad Citizen has been a rising force in the crowded New York City club scene. Cutting their teeth playing institutions like Arlene’s Grocery, The Bitter End, and Legion Bar; this up and coming band has the rough hewn grooves of retro rock grooves and writing inspired by classic Rock, Blues and R & B. The band counts James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Howling Wolf to Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy among their influences.
