ALBUM REVIEW: Wiegedood – There’s Always Blood At The End Of The Road


 

The 2020’s has seen a process of metamorphosis for the Church of Ra and its members, and an evolution of its two leading artists. First Amenra abandoned the Mass honorific after six chapters for their excellent and bruising De doorn, their first full length for Relapse. Similarly, Belgian Black Metal visionaries Wiegedood have ripped themselves from the titling convention of the De Doden Hebben Het Goed series for their fourth full-length, the ominously titled There’s Always Blood At The End Of The Road (Century Media).

Amenra Announce Autumn 2021 European Acoustic Tour; Rebooks Headline Tour for Next Spring


Fresh off the release of their brilliant new album De Doorn on Relapse Records (review here) Amenra has announced an acoustic tour, the bands’ first ever full-acustic tour. The brief tour of Europe this Autumn will be a special ritual, like all Amenra shows. Their previously scheduled De Doorn headline EU tour with Jo Quail has been rescheduled for April 2022. Arctangent Festival 2021 is Postponed to 2022


In some heartbreaking news for this summers’ UK festival circuit, Arctangent Festival, the best fest for Progressive Metal, Tech-Death, Djent and related sub-genres is canceled for 2021 and postponed until 2022. The festival made the announcement on social media today. Bands returning in 2022 include Opeth, Cult of Luna, TesseracT, MONO, Amenra, Maybeshewill, Alces, Perturbator, Leprous, Enslaved, Caspian, The Locust, Agent Fresco, Oathbreaker, Intronaut, AA Williams, Bell Witch, Jo Quail, Svalbard, Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, and Bloodlet.

Amenra to Host Livestream Event Next Month


House of Blues, Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV 8/18/19

Underground and avant-garde metal leaders Amenra will host a livestream ritual, Le Cercle, next month, on December 12th. Ticket presales begin Thursday, November 26 at 4pm CET.
