Watch Slipknot Headline The Iowa State Fair

In a career full of huge achievements, Slipknot toppled another one last night. They headlined the vaunted Iowa State Fair in their home town of Des Moines Iowa, and it was a banger. The fair is no stranger to metal after Metallica headlined their in the 1990s, but it’s definitely not par for the course. The band played pretty much the same setlist they have during the Knotfest Roadshow Tour so far but definitely included a few more recent songs, including ‘Unsainted ‘from We Are Not Your Kind. Watch Slipknot Perform Two New Songs on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

As expected Slipknot decimated Los Angeles as the band performed ‘Unsainted’ and ‘All Out Life’ live on Jimmy Kimmel Live! To a national broadcast audience last night (May 17th). The band played on the outdoor stage outside the studio to a packed standing-room crowd. Only ‘Unsainted’ aired during the program, which is taped in front of a live studio audience and produced by 12 05 AM Productions LLC in association with Jackhole Industries and ABC Studios. Slipknot’s sixth album, “We Are Not Your Kind”, which will be released on August 9 via Roadrunner Records. The song’s accompanying video was directed by the band’s own M. Shawn Crahan. We Are Not Your Kind was once again recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman (Slayer, Metallica), who engineered and mixed Slipknot’s 2004 album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and helmed 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter. Louder Than Life Teases Slipknot As a Headliner for 2019

Louder Than Life Festival will be making their first announcement soon. Yesterday in a post to social media, they posted a video teaser that indicates that Slipknot will be one of the headline bands. The clip has distinctive audio that sounds like the intro to the bands’ current single, ‘All Out Life’. Slipknot is currently in the studio working on their new album, due out on August 9th, 2019. Louder Than Life takes place September 27-29th at Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center.Continue reading →


Slipknot Launches New Website, Teases Major Announcement

As we have previously reported, Slipknot is in the studio working on their new album, due next summer from Roadrunner Records. The band just teased a major announcement for Monday, March 4th and launched a new website (link below), named for the final line in their recent new single- “We Are Not Your Kind!” from ‘All Out Life’. The band has already announced a major headline tour of European Festivals, US tour dates, including headlining their hometown Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. Slipknot Is In The Studio, New Album Due Out Next Summer

As we have previously reported, Slipknot has a new album in the works, due next summer from Roadrunner Records, with a release date presently unknown. We got the first taste of it on Halloween with the surprise release of new single/video ‘All Out Life’. Now thanks to a post by Corey Taylor, we know the band is at work back in the studio. The band will support the album with a summer tour of Europe as well as an appearance at this year’s Iowa State Fair, so it’s a good bet the album will be done and released by then. Easily one of the most anticipated albums of 2019, the new Slipknot album is sure to be picked over and examined by fans and the entirety of the music press. The album will be the follow up to 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter (Roadrunner) and their sixth overall. The band is in the top echelon in the world for heavy music, and even kvlt and underground bands that feel unaffected by the heaviest commercial band out there, are indeed impacted by a Slipknot release. In short, this band is good for metal. The kid that discovers Slipknot today, may find Carcass, or Imperial Triumphant, or Bell Witch tomorrow.
